Player file won't start

I was playing with a friend using Steam launcher to join her game. I have the backpack mod installed, she doesn't. https://community.playstarbound.com/resources/backpacks.4958/ (but had forgot about it until today.) I suppose I had it for so long that i just thought of it as a vanilla item, so i was talking about it with her and she said "well what do you need to craft one?" I answered her. She goes to craft it and it's not there. She checks other crafting station (for me it was in basic crafting.) So i offer to make one and throw it to her. As soon as she picks it up, her game crashes and now she can't access the file. If she tries to open the world it just crashes starbound as soon as she clicks, not even a loading screen. She can play any other char with no problems except the one with the backpack. She tried verifying integrity of game files and it was sucessful, but she still can't load the file. Looking for help on how o get her file back. thanks.

 

there are 2 ways to play the player again: using an inventory editor (or anything else capable of editing player files, like N++) to remove the backpack, or installing the mod on her end
