I would love to have a Hylotl, but they're jerks. I think back-stories could fix this. They could be player-made or there could be 5 or so options. Example: Hylotl: Jerkbag, Not-A-Jerkbag, Missionary, Trainee, Criminal. (They would be more complex, but they could also be player made).
I didn't realise that characters had an attitude, spoke for themselves and had view points within the games mechanics?
They do. The different races look at everything as a normal/bad guy of their race, except Glitch, Apex, Avian, and possibly Floran. The Hylotl look at everything they don't own in a condescending manner.
It would definitely be neat to do, especially if someone wants to play as a Floran that can read books and not just stab them. However, it would require adding additional descriptions to each and every item in the game... That's a really large, boring task. It's not difficult to do, but really, really tedious and time-consuming. So, it probably won't be done until they get closer to finished.
Just lore, and the player character looks at everything in their race's ideals. What I'm saying is that we could be an intelligent Floran rather than a savage. They would mainly affect story and item descriptions.
