Random sentient constructs of good and evil being spawned from a solid pool of living ores to attack or protect all life as we know it? I think this idea is very plavible. I like it.
Would these masses be in the form of the ore veins, or turn to a thick liquid substance, or just spawn a mob at the closest area with enough space? This gives me a headache...
A liquid substance comes from the ore veins, and 'fuels' an area of coloured 'smoke' that is created that turns into a mob after about 10 seconds
Hmm... So what you are saying is that each plavium ore-type demonstrates different characteristics, even when spawning a possible creature? Sort of like this? red = fire : spurts flames that become creature green = plant : form a seed that can be planted or falls into the ground and grows a creature :alien: yellow = hot sand : falls in a sand clump that raises dust. creature appears from the settled dust black = chaos/dark/dark matter : spews black oil that forms into a creature blue = water : becomes a puddle of very blue water that a creature forms in or of pink = psychic. : the ore become a sparkly pink cloud that forms into a creature mixed : (non-sparkly?) colored smoke clouds that become creature
BTW guys just to let you know the devs say that they think this idea is 'neat', not sure how good they actually think it is though but I think there's some hope for it being in the game (through updates or release). Fingers crossed!
I like the idea of the organisms and how you can make them a pet. Also will the plavium be on meteorites if they are added?
Only 30 Types of Organisms? From what I've heard, there are a whole ton more than that. Perhaps there could be different types of Plavium, for different planets?
It should take time and energy to make these guys, but they drop the ore on death so you can re-make them, or at least re-use their parts.
Just had a thought... as a supplement to the specific creatures created from plavium, you could also have special property versions of the procedurally generated creatures to help spice things up with variety. That way you don't get the same creature every time you do the same formula. Example: You could have a 50% chance of it being a unique plavium creature and a 50% chance of it being a special procedurally generated one. You could move the percentage either way depending one which one you want to be more common. But all this is just an after-thought on my part.
