Platinum ore, observations & small of questions

Welp, after some testing around since this latest patch, I have dug deep in large sized Threat Lv.30 planets and still have found no platinum.

I did some research and players still find nothing but Gold, silver, and Loads of titanium (Which... I have quite the truck load.)

I even tried searching for planets higher then thirty in the gamma section but that hasn't been fruitful. I did notice on that planet I was on, I noticed a unique ore node deep down that looked likea Platinum Nugget I held unto so I can try to match it with what more I'm looking for. I think I found it-- But since there is bugs and its still in Beta, I learned it will drop Silver ore. Thats right, I know the visual different between Silver Ore nodes and this new one. Platinum is a near bleached white, Silver is a bit dullish gray.

Unless someone has a screen shot of viable proof of what Platinum Ore looks like in its unmined state, I am sad to report that the Platinum Ore nodes (Or Atleast I think they are) Drops silver ore instead. In which case, players can only find Platinum by happenstance in chests on high tier planets.

Also, I was wondering... For this beta build, I've been search all over many quadrants and universes to try and find an... "abandoned Space station", something I've been waiting for. I did some research on that as well, and it seems that it was removed way back during Starbounds development. So I am not sure if its in now or it'll be later.

If Space station exists, how would I go looking for one? Would they appear when I searched from my ship? Or do I just travel from planet to planet till I get some sort of sign that one is in view? I really need a place to mass storage and research stuff. (Army of robots, rideable mechs, vehicles, etc.)

(Also, if anyone Miraculously has a bunk load of Platinum, I'm willing to bunk off some of my titanium for some Plat. Just offering. Ciao!)

 

I have the same problem, have been digging around the core of 4 lvl30 planets for a few hours and not a single platinum ore, i have so much titanium i don't even bother mining it anymore lol.

 

34 is the minimum threat level platinum will spawn on.

 

So if platinum is only one level 34 threat level and above how are people even getting to it?

 

Wait what. Thirty is the highest beta goes... how does thsi compute? Can you even get to gamma without platinum?

 

so you have to kill the 3rd boss to get platinum? haven't seen any planet over 30 so far...

So whats the third boss? Or...

Is Space stations in or not?

Third Boss - Giant Skeleton Dragon (Don't have a strategy for him sadly he him clip thru the blocks.)

 

How is this third boss encountered?

2). Shame... I really need one. I want me Robot minions, Defense turrets & Mechanism, and vehicles.

 

I got Platinum Ore from a chest, but that was it

 

After you beat second boss you should get item called "Processor" you use it to build "Robotic Crafting Table", in that crafting table you can find "Decoy Princess". When you place it and right click it the dragon will show up.

 

Plat ore does exist, just on higher level planets for some reason.

 

people are not understanding the fact that when you get to gama with your gold armor that you upgraded with steel you get one shot
to make the next teir armor for 20-30 you need plat

yet you can't get plat till 34+ WTH

 

I have steel armor and Titanium greaves, with a steel Broadsword. what do you recommend what gear I need to be to face that dragon?

 

What's the minimum world level for titanium?

 

It doesn't matter what gear you have he will one shot you anyway. You need to find planet with Gun Dealers, get on their ship, make holes where you can shoot, get gun, summon dragon and just keep on shooting.
I would recommend level 30 planet I think there are cords for it on forum somewhere.

20-25 and up

 

Ah good, I'll try to find a 20 and go for it. It's an orange-ish ore that replaces Iron right?

 

I have no idea what you people are smoking, but I've found plat on Threat 1 planets. It's deep in the ground, true, but a simple mineshaft will take you there. I literally have nearly an entire stack of platinum bars (that's 1000 max in a stack, I have 973). This is after I used a ton of platinum for the armor.

Yeah, that's just pure luck. I got five platinum ores in a chest, nothing more.

Titanium is an orange-ish ore that replaces iron right? from what I read in another thread?
