Plasma Assault Rifle farm.

Hi,
so I'm wondering. What is the best place to find this thing?
The wiki says space encounters with extreme difficulty.
Those are the purple twister things in star systems, right?
But then it says friendly space stations can have it too. Yet those are tier 1 and not tier 6 (extreme).

So how do I find this rifle? I farm the purple extreme difficulty twisters for about 2 days now.
Should I also visit every friendly station with no threat, all of the "Supply stations" and enemy ships with extreme threat?

 

Any and all space encounters on Tier 6 systems, that means Fiery. Absolutely any encounters: anomalies (squigly purple things), stations, ships (both friendly and enemy) - all qualify. It's just that chance for it to appear is tiny: I know every mech schematic (including somewhat obscure Protectorate, Miniknog and Occasus mechs) and have 50-ish assorted blueprints sitting around, yet only one Plasma Rifle.

EDIT: Aight, I've dug into game data, and boy does it tell me not to open my bloody mouth before checking.
Your best bet is enemy ships: only they have a container with "proper" pool, and even then your chances are about one to 150. With the rest, don't even bother: friendly ships and stations can't spawn space-themed guns at all, encounters are sorta gray area: most don't, some do (albeit there chances are 1 to 2100).

TL;DR: the only way to get Plasma Rifle that will take less than a human lifespan to accomplish is to hunt tier 6 pirate ships, period.

Keep up with it. I found one randomly and it's one of my favorite weapons. It can happen BTW I did find mine on an enemy ship around a fiery star, if it helps.

Edit: I found it in the wall storage container like the one found in your ship in the cockpit area.
