Planing what to build on homeworld already?

Dunno how you guys, but I here am striving to build something epic in Starbound! Anyways, just beeing curious, do you have any plans on what to build on your plane already? Maybe you'd like to share your ideas with us? That would be awesome!

 

I shall construct one of the biggest, square building, filled to the brim with chests, to store all of my stuff.

 

For my base, I'm going to build a giant fortress hanging off the side of a canyon, which will hang above my massive city of NPCs. A metal wall will surround the canyon city so monsters can't get in.

 

You should install cannons at the bottom of your fortress, for those times when you just don't feel like being kind.

Yeah, there will be skyscrapers too, for the peasants, but for myself I shall build a swagalicious ( ) royal palace, with only the finest furnishings. It will be surrounded by a lovely garden that has a pond with a waterfall. And maybe an orchard or two.
And I shall have vacation homes on all the coolest and prettiest planets.

 

God, this poll was a lot more difficult to answer than I thought it'd be.

 

I'll be making a Metropolis that spans across 7 planets. And a moon as a place to develop adult things, like porn.

I was supposed to spend all weekend animating, but then i stumbled on this thread and now I've already spent several hour plotting how to make my awesome home in Starbound once it's out! Dammit!

 

Well I'm going to start with a normal sized house that suits all my needs. Its going to have farms, armory, treasure room etc. Then I slowly add more levels, bigger, better rooms. Basically I'm going to upgrade my small house to a big fortified castle.

You literally just described my Terraria house to a T.

I myself will likely do what Spike said, I build for function not form most the time. If it keeps me safe and stores my stuff it is good enough for me.

 

An underwater bunker/lab combination. A big one.

Sounds about right. I'm pretty awful at building pretty looking things. It will be underground and surrounded by a myriad of defenses.
