Planets with black holes nearby..

Could be like timed challenges!
You have say maybe 30 minutes to gather what you can from the planet, that being from loot or special blocks to unique monsters to tame and so forth!
Sorry should have posted in suggestions!

Well it could be more or less depending on how close the planet is to the black hole, and I think that there could be alot of interesting things that could be put onto these sorts of planets, like jumping puzzles or a gather-palooza lol

 

30 min on that planet would still be nearly an extremely long time for a spectator far away from that planet

I really like that idea, although I don't usually play timed games(except spelunky).

There are so many possibilities for this sort of event!

 

I think it would have to be patched up a bit though. What happens when it gets sucked in? Do you die, and loose stuff? What if you have stuff on the planet?

 

Super Mario Galaxy meets Starbound. I can already smell the Daredevil and Speedy Comets already...

 

When you run out of time your character goes back to his shuttle and does not keep any items he picked up on the planet.

 

wait what? Why not keep the items he picked up? What's the point then? Also there needs to be something to make sense of that. How would you just teleport up? I think you should be given a warning to get up, and if you don't make it then though. There should also be a tech items which auto-beams you up, but that should be a bit difficult to get.

 

This was on the front page, but the title was cut off and it said "Planets with black holes...",
so I came here preparing a science-y criticism about how it doesn't make sense that a puny planet has its own black hole.
But, I guess it's unneeded...

 

I said if they run out of time re-read. The way you go back to your shuttle is the same as you normally do.. the button in your inventory thing. there will be a time limit at the top of the screen or something also.

 

Fun fact: you cannot see black holes at all. Not even light can escape them. The only way to detect them is from their gravity.

 

This game isn't going to be fully realistic and also how come the center of a galaxy is so bright?

 

Because of the stars there.

Well lets say your ship has blackhole detection systems, ok?

 

I was just being random, haha. I just think it's a fun and little known fact...but yes, your idea would work. A detection system in your ship for large gravity influxes could detect it.

 

Yes I know you said that. I suggest that there will be no such thing, but instead some sort of obvious warning when you have 5 mins left. If your underground then, you have to get the f*** out. However, when you have a certain tech item, you can have a timer, and will automatically teleport back (if you can) when time is about to run out.
