Easily one of the largest annoyances in the game is trying to find that ONE SINGLE QUEST ITEM! You search everywhere, every planet in the system, then the next one, and the next one, and so on. BUT NO MORE! Planet scanners (made from the research station, or whatever the devs want) allow you scan the planet ,for a pixel price ( I think 1000 would be a good amount), and tells you EXACTLY whats there; WITHOUT the need to walk the entire planets radius. It would say things like, "Planet contains Floran Hunting Dungeon, Apex colony, and underground Human Outposts" on a screen. I GUARANTEE this will make the game ten times more enjoyable for everyone.

1,000 pixels seems to cheap for such a powerful tool. I think it should be much higher, to discourage just spamming it everywhere. Maybe 20,000 pixels instead.

i personally have never had that many pixels at once (and i play this game regularly). it should be cheep because there are a LOT of planets to potentially scan, plus there's no guarantee that the first 20 planets you scan will have what you want. 3000 pixels is the most I think it would be worth (Keep in mind the teleporters which ARE extremely powerful only require 5000 pixels to make, then they're free). Also, It doesn't seem THAT powerful; just convenient. You still have to find where on the planet the things you want are. (just to clarify, its 1000 pixels per planet scan, not to build the thing)

It completely negates a key part of the game, which is exploration. Something that removes an entire element of gameplay shouldn't be easily accessible, in my opinion.

exploration is great, and people still will to find chests and new things. but when you spend 5+ hours looking for a CARVED BONE STATUE on 100s of planets, it gets tiring. and if it cost too much, you would have to grind a planet for pixels taking even MORE time than just walking around a planet; defeating the purpose. and its not just for quest items. It helps you find the things you need for a house; like apex, floran, and other building materials and furniture.

Also, you reach a point when you've seen every single biome, building, and monster combination. At that point, the exploration is not a factor anymore. It becomes "Oh great, another mushroom village" or "Ah, I already have an All Seeing Cape".

It should be free, and should be part of the scanning feature already used in the planets´ descriptions, considering that all it does is remove tedium that kills the enjoyability of exploring.

maybe, but i think it should at least need to be crafted. i thought it could be something you held like the portable pixel printer.

Consider that quests that pretty much force you to find items from structures appear rather quickly. In fact, the quest that requires a jacket is the first one if your PC isn´t human.

Ok.... whats your point? Cause that doesn't make the items any easier to find. If your saying that we would get the find quests before my scanner then your mistaken. It doesn't give you that kind of find quests until after the second ship upgrade, which is the one with the research station. all the ones before that can be obtained on the starter galaxy and any old ocean biome.

But it still is useful at finding structures more quickly, which is very useful if you want to find certain weapons, furniture and blocks.

furniture and blocks yes. Weapons no. It doesnt tell you what items are in chests.

Some weapons are only dropped by dungeon NPCs, such as Pulse Rifles, Needlers, Lightning Coils...

that is the approximate yield of one lunar mission run, and too cheap

It can get tedious to beam down to every planet. At the very least, something to tell you what the main dungeon is, if any. Offset it with a cost, then you can decide, do you pay to find out the main dungeon, or do you beam down and just run it?

Any more info than that, I agree, it would start to degrade the main focus of the game.

the only way you should be able to tell what kind on dungeon is on a planet, is if they add a dungeon that takes up half of the world. You would be able to see it from the navigation menu bulging out of a planet
