Anyone suggested this one yet? I did a quick search and did not see this type of item. Planet Notes - custom Codex that takes the scan data plus additional details. Some example Data fields: Official planet name as well as custom name. Planet data - gathered from ships sensors biome type Bookmarks - a post it to remind yourself later to further investigate a temple, ruin, mad scientist lab etc. Notes: note a good place for lots of ore general comments etc. The object would be a data tablet that you keep with you and reference. So if you needed something, say Iron ore, you could search through your saved info and see what planet was noted with more common iron ore deposits. The tablet links to your ships database so if the tablet gets dropped, only need to create a new one, no data lost. The super awesome version would have your ships advanced sensor data added to Planet Notes when a scan is done that shows % of mineral types along with Civilization level, tech Level, - all the handy goodies so we can save time in our search for "stuff".
In my opinion it would be awesome if you would have a notebook and then add Notes (which you call bookmarks here) and could give the planet a nickname.So it wouldn't really give you advantage in terms of those handy goodies you mentioned,more like a little function so you can note everything down what you want (e.g. Facilities or Merchants),because,honestly,your ''Super Awesome Version'' would kind of ruin the surprise.It would be like an address book so you have a little report,a photo and room for your notes!
The super awesome version would only be from planets that were active scanned from upgraded ship sensors. So unless you actively scanned for it no surprise could be ruined, it would only present the basic biome info like before. Another option for the list that would be nice, is to have an explored date for when the planet was first visited. Really other than jotting it down how are people keeping track. Currently, I leave monuments near my beam down point as a marker. 1 block visited, 2 blocks need to explore more, 3 blocks good stuff found etc. I will probably have to use notepad for now, I like to play full screen but it crashes both in GL and DX graphics when I alt tab. Maybe I can get it windowed decently so it is not too distracting.
