Planet Gravity

    Planets should have different gravity levels. Some that are so weak you need special equipment to stay there and not float off into space. And inversely some planets with very very strong gravity and you need a mech or something to just sustain the sheer amount of gravity pressure

    i agree, though mechs will probably be near-endgame things. And what about the creatures that are on planets that have high gravity or low gravity? Maybe the high-threat level planets will have a more diverse gravity system than low-threat planets.

    It would definitely make the game be more realistic. And gravity is linked to the size of a planet, so smaller planets will have less gravity than larger planets.

    On topic: great idea OP, let's hope it is implemented in the game on release!

    Starbound already has gravity.

    "We're putting major time into making sure each planet is as different as is possible," Brice says. "This includes the type of terrain that appears, procedurally generating the foliage, the weather, the day/night cycle, the gravity level, the way enemies appear and their behavior, the materials present, the color of materials and foliage, the backdrops, and more."

    We don't know how drastic the differences are though and if they affect anything else than obvious things like jump height.
