Now there's nothing wrong with seeing other planets in the same orbit and I find it quite beautiful for scenery, however I've noticed a trend that looks as if every or if I've missed some, almost every background seems to have planets and I was just wondering if there are going to be any types that don't require seeing things above orbit.

Here is an example I picked from the new Terraria 1.2 update that'd I'd be interesting it seeing some of in-game.
    Hint: This isn't a suggestion. terraria backgroud.png

  2. I remember Tiy having stated something like; the background would portray the current system the player finds him/herself in, meaning that you would be able to see in the sky the other celestial bodies in that specific zone. It should be safe to assume, then, that if a system has one planet only, you wouldn't be able to see other planets in orbit.

Yes there will be planets without moons and solar systems with only one planet. But the majority of them have neighbouring planets and each their moons. And yes there are similar background scenery to what Terraria has. :)

    EDIT: Few examples

I wonder. There might be some planets with a thick enough atmosphere that you can't see them. You never know though.

It does, but the newer looking stuff seems out of place in the existing world, for obvious reasons. (background looks fine, I mean the tree and stuff)

I don't know aout the first one, but the last two are old screenshots that I'm pretty sure came out before they implemented being able to see planets.

Yes they are. But every planet/biome has its own background scenery. And there's still a possibility that the planet you're on or the solar system you're in don't have any neighbouring celestial bodies! And The point with the pictures was really to answer Warrens question about if Starbound will have these kind of background parallaxes as Terraria has :) So cheerios

Pluuus If I may add, planets are less visible at day.

I hope so too. There's way too much focus on other planets in the sky. It would be cool if there way more of what you put in the OP, agreed.
