Hi Guys, This is a very nice (if a little old) tutorial for those of you wanting to improve your pixel art. It was done by master pixelcrafter Derek Yu. http://www.derekyu.com/?page_id=219 Just to be clear, the wrestler is not mine, the Image is by Derek Yu:
Wow, this is a great find. Thanks for sharing. I've actually been scrambling to find guides on how to do pixel art myself recently for some of my own projects.
Hah! Well, Fishbertus, the thing is by recent I mean realllly recent. I've never done pixel art before, but I'm doing a group project and my team members decided they wanted sprite art for the game we're working on. Oh well, humble beginnings and whatnot. I'm guessing you've got experience under your belt though.
Yep. But not much either. Not to bragg, but I just get good at stuff quicker than most people. At first I'm terrible but then after a little bitty of practice I get pretty good, and then no matter how much more I practice I just stay that good and never, ever improve lol
Well, improvement comes gradually and with experience as well as time! Don't beat yourself up on it. I had the exact same experience with writing; I was at an impasse for the longest time until I really improved my writing skills. So, sprite away, practice, and have fun above all. That's what I plan to do, heh.
I just wish the day was 48 hours and not 24 (and you live same amount of years, a.k.a. life is 2x as long) because then I could do everything I don't have time for. Right now, my normal day is wake up, eat breakfast/brush teeth, go to school, come back and forum, dinner, sleep. If I had twice the time, it would be AMAZING.
Ah ha ha wait till you have a a kid! My day is wake up, eat, get ready, play with kid, go to work, come home, eat, play with kid, put kid to bed, get 1 hr on the computer if I'm lucky, go to bed.
lol I WISH I had days like that, You get to spend time with your own son AND make a living, hopefully on something you like to do. What do I get? School, which is 5 hours 40 minutes of work that you DONT get payed for, 1 hour of boredom and 20 minutes of learning.
Ha ha, we all feel that way going through school. But at least it lets you get the nice job (which I do enjoy, which is AT a University (extra LOLs)). I spend most of my time in school doodling cartoons in my notebooks. Oh, and it's a daughter! I get to try and make her a nerdy video game addict like me. Of course she's only 17 months old... so I've got a while. This is her:
Aww, she's the cutest thing I ever saw *dies of cuteness* Imagine that golden Xbox Controller in her hands... and a headset
