See what I did there? The PAC is a high-tech rifle (cannon just sounds cooler) that uses Pixels as ammunition, which are accelerated through a series of electromagnets, causing them to travel at near OMG-That-Was-Fast! speed, making the PAC one of the best weapons for first-strike long range combat. This thing will go through your target, the wall behind him, the crates and chairs, then the wall on the other side, the crystal trees on the other side of the house... you get the idea.
very nice idea, clear and precice, it sounds alot like the "credit Cannon" from raze2 just alot more awesome and you don't need to pay real money for it. be great if there wasn't anything you wanted/needed to buy (or didn't like buying stuff) depending on how valuable credits are, and how often they are found, the gun could be very awesome (sparse pixles) or wayyyy OP or UP (TONS of pixels)
so its a railgun, but with money... doesn't the US army already use money ammunition? i mean, considering the billions of dollars spent on war every day... this would work like the star canon, in that its the best weapon but costs a ton to fire?
Does it ever stop penetrating? Or will it just fly around the planet in an indefinite series of loops, eventually doing an infinitesimally small amount of damage, and never quite killing that last enemy?
If it were to go on forever, it shouldn't go into orbit around the planet (1m high orbit, at that) If shot in a high enough angle, I don't see why it shouldn't venture into space, hitting everything on its way. Who knows, maybe several weeks later, you'll be ambushed by a tribe of aliens, complaining about how your pixels shot through their leader's hair, giving him a reverse Mohawk, something that is frowned upon by their culture! Or not, I mean - we wouldn't want to make it overpowered or anything.
But if it went into space, would it just orbit, or actually escape the planet's pull? I think the obvious solution here is for it to just not be able to go into space.
Oh, we were being serious?... Sure, I'll give that a try, here goes: The power of the weapon would also depend on how rare pixels are going to be, if they are very abundant, this weapon shouldn't be too powerful, seeing as you're going to have more than enough ammunition for it. And vice versa. Maybe let it penetrate a wall or such, but that should pretty much be it, or even be able to dislodge blocks, like shooting a small hole in a house, to kill the target hiding inside.
