There are topics about this already. And yes, it will take time but it will reach it by the end of the month, or even May.

 

I am appalled by the entitlement displayed in the previous thread and comment section, the pre order is mainly to speed up the development by allowing them to work full time, not to add features. I preordered before there was any stretch goal and i would have wished for a more permanent $1m stretch goal, but i am not in the slightest bothered by adding starter pets

Why do people keep asking this, do people think the beta is next week? It's likely not for another 4+ months. Of course it will reach 1m, it's nearing 800k already after 1 week. That's with no official trailer, no advertisement, and no release date. These are 3 massive impacts on preorders. 1m will be easily reached, I could see asking if 2m will be reached. Thousands of people are waiting for a better release date before preordering (just how some people are), and hundreds of thousands aren't even aware of the game yet (trailer, upcoming preview builds will fix this).

Could we please stop asking this in every thread and making new threads about this?

Not sure. I would say no, actually. It will reach 1,000,000, sure, but not by Monday. The cashflow has slowed down considerably at this point.

I see what you mean, but a lot of people would have been paid yesterday so I'm unsure myself.

 

It may take a small spike, because paiday is usually a Thursday or Friday for most people, yes, but that only makes up a small piece of the pie in terms of "people who play starbound".
