Ok, this shouldnt be too hard, since the mob generation works like its puting random pieces and colours together.
Every 5th pet level, there should be an evolution, up to level 20 (wich should be the pet level cap)
    This means 4 evolution.
Now i will give 2 optionss. Read please..
    Option 1.
When a pet evolves, a random creature part is put on the creature.
    Option 2.
When a pet evolves, it becomes bigger and you will get a wall of choices of differente parts. And every part gives a special attack

Have you worked out how pet leveling works yet/how you can see your pets level?

you can't just stick new parts onto the monsters. They're assembled using "body", "head", "arms/legs", and "tail". That's it.
I personally wouldn't mind if they just made your pet grow bigger as they increased in level.

But first they need to make your pet more of a companion than a throwable weapon. Putting them back into the pod requires more pods, which gets tedious and becomes a waste of capture pods. The pet should teleport with you at the VERY LEAST.

Yeah im pissed of about this whole capture pod thing its fu••• stupid. You are in the gamma sector when you get them, but there are no iron in gamma so you cant make steel...also it costs a fu•••• lot of money, and when you throw it at monsters below 50% health, you got like a 5% procent to catch it -.-

Actually, it's 100% catch rate if you throw it at the monsters you're suppose to. As the description says.. small, non-flying animals. So basically the guys that look like babies are the only things you can catch.
    Money is not an issue for me, and I don't see why it would be for anyone else. Diamonds are insanely easy to get. You can find them on any world at any point in the game, and they get easier and easier to find as you progress, up to the point where I don't even feel like mining them in Sector X because I have millions of pixels and don't feel like getting more. :zzz:;

    Just to let you know..
They are already planning evolution/growth already, this was in one of Tiy's update posts (Here)
"A new baby monster variant is added, we’ll be using this in the future to do some nifty growth/evolution things.."

I am looking forward for this pet thing.Much more because I like to collect everything I can rather than having "domesticated pets".
But I wonder...if the evolution becomes random, would there be any purpose in capturing monsters? Hmmm I am quite anxious to see the results.
But the devs have MUCH to do,as it is stated in the starbound official site.Anxious to see the results

    A few suggestions.
    1) The mobs should show up instead of the pod in the 'filled capture pods'
    2) Mobs should teleport to you when you get a certain distance away and return to their pods when you teleport to ship
    3) A method of control. I recommend the Pet Whistle, while holding it and clicking your captured pets you return them to their pod, and when you click anything else all your pets attack it. Simple to use. Crafting recipe would be in the Creature Capture Station, probably should include Steel and Gold or something.

I like option 2 "When a pet evolves, it becomes bigger and you will get a wall of choices of different part. And every part gives a special attack". But I think find an unlock for the part by killing LOTS of monsters AND it should cost different amounts pixels and items by the part and its rarity. I also think some parts should give a special attack but if you have multiple special attack parts, you choose 1 and the rest modify the selected one. Another type of part would modify your pets base stats, and the final type would give a very special trait, like an energy shield, or a turret mounted on its back, or a jet pack, but this type of part would be rare and expensive.

Evolution won't be random. Based on the information we've been provided so far, it looks like monsters will have two states: infant and adult. You'll be able to find both versions on their home planets, but you'll only be able to capture the infants.

I'm hoping that they expand the mechanic after the game is released, but there's been no indication of that so far. It's early days yet.

The pets weren't released actually, but, this idea sucks, would be better being the way they are planning.
