I was thinking for a while now and I do enjoy games with persistent gore in which your character gets covered in blood or bits as they fight since staying nice and clean after killing twenty flying enemies who died above your head and still being all nice and clean does ruin the iimmersion for me a little. What are your thoughts on the idea?
as a person who dislikes blood, i strongly disagree. adding blood/gore and will not olny make some people uncomfortable but it will also harm sales for the younger adiance. so i say keep the game clean. then again for all we know it could alreyd be like that
By anime, do you mean when ever you get hurt, a ridiculous amount of blood fountains out of your body, framed by large words of onomatopoeia?
(That would be cool) but thats a completly different game and is in no way the same as starbound is. And since when is turning on and off blood the same as a simulator turning into a slash-em-up?
"That's it, you totally awesome person! Prepare to eat this cake I baked for you!" *Awesome explosion of rainbows and glitter* "Yeah! Who wants some more delicious baked goods!?"
Gore mode: "Get some, bastards! Want some more?!" Rainbow mode: "Come get some cake, kids! Who wants some more? "
Sounds acceptable. "Come get some cake, kids! *turn gore mode on* Want some more?! *kids get slaughtered *
maybe not so much gore as opposed to maybe a sign that your character is getting damaged. Kinda like some of those old fighters where the more damage you take, and more messed up the face icon (next to the health meter) starts to look. Starbound can have a visual cue that your character is getting really messed up. Things like cuts, scrapes, bloodied clothing, broken helmets and visors, etc. Everything else can have a small spray of alien liquid or something to show you hit it. Again there can be a slider which dictates how much of a spray of blood or goop is shown on damage. slider all the way down means the characters and enemies will show extremely minimal amounts of damage and blood, and instead the screen will just violently shake and become red (old shooters), and all the way up will mean the spray is much more prevalent and effects look much more detrimental to the health of whatever is receiving damage. Either that, or you fools can go play Soldat or Cortex Command.
