whether or not that is true does not change the argument I made in OP, which is about your gang consistently ignoring others on global chat.

Restaurant example is a bad analogy.
Joining a public server and then completely ignoring everyone else is a bit of a dick move whereas you don't go to a restaurant intending to mingle with other people.
I mean at the very least you can tell other people you don't want to talk to them instead of pretending they don't exist.

Here's a more accurate (though still pretty poor) one:
    Someone hosts a party.
That person invites everyone in town.
That same person only associates with people he knows the entire time and ignores anyone that comes up to him, not even so much as acknowledging their presence.

It renders hosting a party pointless to begin with, as he could've just simply invited his friends over to his house.

No, you did. I literally quoted what you said. They gave a situation which you provided personal context on, and I responded to what you said.

and I'm not obligated to make sure that they win the fights they think they can win. And they grief my ship faster than I can grief theirs.

Their server, they can do as they please. They (and really, anyone you meet online) is under no obligation to acknowledge you even exist. Some people use servers just to hang out with friends because their PCs can't host a server on their own. Some people play online but prefer to be solo just for the sense of a living universe. You were the one to get malicious so you're the only one at fault.

That also doesn't apply, since people on their server aren't the ones hosting the "party"

The most apt analogy is there's a party, and the hot cheerleaders are only talking to the jocks. The chess club in retaliation start throwing juice at everyone.

Just because we're at the same party doesn't mean I have to fucking talk to you.

If i were you, i'd take everything the griefer had and then fill his ship completely with the hardest material in the game, so he'd take tons of time to get rid of.

cause i mean, you already griefed them, might as well go out with a bang

It doesn't matter who it is, they're not obligated in any way to talk to you, help you, or otherwise just because you're on a server with them. If you can't play nice with others, or respect other peoples right to play the game without being at your beck and call, you really shouldn't play on a server.

You know what else is rude? Demanding attention from people, especially from people who are already busy with their own things. People don't have to stop and give you attention. Nobody owes you anything. Stop kicking and screaming. If I'm on a server and I don't want to talk to you, I'll ignore you. Why? Because I don't have to talk to you. People don't join servers just for the privilege of being with you on them and having the opportunity to respond when you demand help.

You obviously got pissed and are here to vent since you can't really do anything substantial to them.

You need to realize, nobody owes you attention. Just because you want a thing, doesn't mean others need to give it to you.

and in the end, you will just breed more griefers with that attitude. You can laugh all day at how imature, how no life they are, or I am. In the end, their increase in numbers always make your play less convenient, and less enjoyable.

I agree on your main argument, OP
People need to be more sociable, and ignoring someone you invited to your server is a bad move

However, a mistake doesn't fix another, so it was a bad move from your part to grief their planets and ships for being ignored
Instead, just leave the server and play with someone else.

On a side note, you do know that there are 2 chats in starbound: the universal and the planetary chat, right, OP?

If I were on a public server talking to a friend, and a guy was like "hey where are you?", I'm gonna ignore him. If he keeps asking, I'll say "we don't want to play with you dude", if he responds "why did you come to a public server then?", in my head, I'll go, (Oh, it's this guy again), and continue ignoring him.

If he started spamming the chat, and threatening to blow my shit up, I'll go "Yep, I was right about not inviting that dude to play with us", pat myself on the back, and tell my buddy to get on Vent/Mumble.

If a person could just "turn into a griefer" at a dime because he got ignored, that person was never worth playing with. You are that person. Congrats.
