People are being baby's about the patch?

Is it just me or am I the only one that thinks that everyone is being a complete baby about the patch.

1. Can't use wood as a form of fuel? Coal is easy enough to find, it would literally
take 10 minutes to find enough coal to travel. I personally think coal and no wood is a good
idea, the game was too easy before. If you think that it takes too long to get fuel now, then
you were clearly not exploring the worlds and seeing what they had to offer. I have an
abundance of fuel!

2. Bird AI, ever heard of dodging? Maybe I'm just good at these kinds of games, but I can dodge
all their attacks? Sure it's not easy, but when were games supposed to be a piece of cake?

3. Deleted characters was a horrible thing, I will admit to that, but at least now you can play
the game through again, with the new update, and after all, it is beta. What did you expect
you would get to play a smooth game throughout the entire beta process?

Sorry but personally I think the people complaining are a bunch of kids, the only valid reason
of complaint is losing characters, because I can understand that, people have put hours and
hours of work into the game, then to just lose it like that. But like I said it's beta after all, you
have to expect things like this to happen.

 

Sure, some of it might sound like whining, and the endless "My character got deleted" threads are tiring, but some of them raise legitimate points and should at least be considered, even if they don't put it in the most rational or polite way.

 

Congrats, you've solved the problem of online complaining!

In all seriousness though, this kind of thread is no less meaningless than the threads you are fighting against. If your intent was to blow off steam, fine. But don't expect any practical change in others from it.

1.) I'm fine with this. Coal was always more efficient and you'll probably be collecting a lot of it by the end of the game anyway. I can understand complaints, but it isn't so bad.
2.) I'm pretty sure the Bird AI was supposed to be like this from the beginning.
3.)You were warned...

 

This is the only part of your post I have a problem with. Why? Because it's not so easy to dodge them for EVERYONE. I have trouble sometimes dodging them, but it doesn't help that I end up sometimes just facing them while I have no room to dodge. And they shoot pretty fast sometimes.

 

Agreed. Been browsing this forum alot and 20% posts usually are"its too hard". Heaven forbid if they have to ever play Metroid or Castlevania...

 

Get good.

 

They need to try and play Terraria after defeating the boss, or play Minecraft on hard/hardcore mode. Maybe give Dark Souls a try too.

Well your complaint seems to be that the birds are too good for you. Just get better would be the only way to put it. lol

 

Try moving out of the way.

 

No, what I was saying was that the birds sometimes fire too fast. Not everyone is a pro platformer. The controls are looser than what I'm used to. And sometimes the birds just come out of nowhere.

EDIT: And Gravyon, that's easier said than done sometimes. I just said that they're not always dodgeable. Sometimes they shoot lightning instantly, sometimes they fire fast bolts.

 

They had to do the character wipe, and it will happen many more times. If you don't want the character to be wiped, don't update!

 

In the interest of being kind. Here are some tips if your new to a platformer such as this.

1. Depending on the birds and your weapon its best to run away a little bit to bait them to come towards you. Turn around quickly and jump at them and attack. USUALLY they will come at you too quickly, be in your attack range before they can fly off again before they get an attack off on you.

OR craft a ranged weapon and use that.

 

When you first start out out, try getting the bow as soon as possible (for Knockback)
Look at what type of attack the enemy has and plan accordingly .
Keep your distance, make sure you don't have any other wild life around and keep hitting them with arrows. ( flat Areas are the best) and move out of the way.
Not only do they die with you still alive, but now you have meat you can cook and keep you sustained.

That's what I did, and it worked out for me.
