Penalties for Death?

They will never fail by themselves. If they suicide, the fall damage will kill them, or a monster, or a explosion. You get it.

 

Well you can.... if the people running the server will let you. I made a comparison of a lawlessly ran server to EVE Online, and the comparison itself didn't seem so silly >_>

 

Hopefully it's just a monitary loss. I get so frustrated wheb you to the far edge of the universe and then die and have to travel all that way to get my stuff back. Monitary loss seems to not provoke as much frustration.

 

I know what you mean, intergalactic travel can be such a pain sometimes right?

What if you're on a random planet and you forget where exactly?

I am thinking it will be a leveled amount of money. Maybe half of what you have on you at the moment. Perhaps not have it be reclaimable and call it the fee for finding your body and patching you up.

 

Sounds like a good plan. Rage praying always helps get your 1 in 21,000 rocket launcher back.

 

Of course it does.
Rage while praying to The Sphere, and you will get the 21,001st possible rocket launcher.

 

I personally liked the Terraria method of choosing the death penalty for your character, though perhaps there could be an option for servers to force a certain mode if they want to make a "hardcore" server or such

Though, I doubt you will be sent back to a different planet if you die. Maybe every planet has a small safe zone or at the very least, a spawn point.

 

Automatic deletion of System32. Or just in-game monetary loss... Both are pretty likely.

I aim to serve. But now that I think more about it, I'm more leaning towards loss of cash.

 

I was thinking that maybe they sent you back to your space station upon death. Maybe there's some operating room in it or something along those lines.

 

You could always force a call of Alt +F4. Simple and yet so effective xD

 

I assume your uhh "credits" yeah that sounds awefully spacey. Would be required to build, maintain, invest in... meep meep meep... so that sounds reasonable. But it shouldn't pull from your character. It should pull from a "credit Bank" for costs of bio-regeneration statis.... yeah that sounds good. OR you should just DROP some monies and then pay some for bio-regeneration

 

I hope not. Since you have to load between the planet and the space station, it would be irritating to have to suffer the indignation of going from a couple of loading screens just to recover yourself.
