Now we just need a teleportation beacon that can be placed on the home planet, to set our teleportation point.
So, do i have to create a new character to see any changes or will they be applied to my exisiting char? Talking about offended koala.
I had that problem with indignant koala. You just have to keep uninstalling and re-installing. (*Tedious I know*) Edit: Also try deleting this folder. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\appcache
Close Steam. Then go to /steam/steamapps/downloading. Delete the Starbound updates in there. Re-launch Steam and then double-click Starbound as if you were goin to play it. It should start updating like normal.
i find this screenshot a little confusing .... if i get on my transporter pad I get no such option to beam to home planet / current planet...... and i can find no other info other than this screenshot...... also i think it would be a great idea to allow you to beam directly to your own ship from a friends/group members ship. you know how you click on the portrait of a party member .... and you beam from your ship to their ship? well i really do not understand why i cannot click on my own portrait and beam to my own ship.... as it sits the way it is....... i have to beam down to their planet then immediately beam back up to my own ship. just a small rant but i definitely feel that i should be able to beam from their ship directly to my ship.
thats the point, its a NEW screenshot that shows what tiy is working on for the next or one of the next update(s)....
Oh thats groovy and all. and i thought that might be the case. though that lack of mention is what threw me. here i am looking at changelogs then i stumble on this screenie. lookin all HEY HOME SWEET HOME WOOT. so i of course start a new characture and try to get that feature to work. surfed the web found nothing. searched the changelog even harder. still no mention. so i basicly gave up assumeing its something not implemented as of yet.
The changes look great. Now if only we could get this access violation error fixed so I could play Devs, do you guys have any idea what's causing this? There's a lot of us who can't even get the game to start and we haven't heard anything about weather or not the bug is acknowledged yet. Well. I didn't have a rocket launcher, my ship is stuffed to the brim with full crates, and the latest patch despawned him anyway
Maybe you should start to make clothes and summon things with your hair, just as a backup plan. MOTHER OF~ NOW THAT'S A SPACE STATION! I want to customize mine as an avian-themed space-colony-station-death-star-with-master-emerald-ruby-thing! 8D
why do people keep on telling each other to do this! deleting game files accomplishes nothing, besides hammering valve with terabytes of useless downloads every day. when in doubt, VERIFY. steam library -> right click on starbound -> properties -> local files -> VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE this checks the files for you, without redownloading anything that isn't broken. deleting the update is also unnecessary, this will not get you anything different than what you already had. what happened here was they borked their install script, and the client was trying to update startbound.exe while it's still running, which of course won't work if the file is busy (that's where this "disk write error" is coming from). so you can get it to finish with no redownloading this way: 1. exit steam cilent, make sure starbound.exe is not running (force quit in task manager) 2. log in and verify the game cache (it will claim that some number of files are broken, these are files that did not get updated when the script hung on starbound.exe) 3. run the game, it will extract the remaining files locally *optional step: verify again, in my case I needed to do this twice to get the dx version up to date (probably since that's the one I ran when it hung) this is the same process you should take with pretty much any game that fails to update properly, seems to be a common problem that devs fail to check for busy files or run/update them in the wrong order.
I wondered, havent had time to play the indignant one yet (65 hours thus far !! , anyways, tree saplings and vine saplings might be a good idea as an extra edition for bandages since they are most peoples life lines in haughty situations regarding mobs. thanx
I realy hope Pixels become less annoying..... its my biggest issue with the game are these damn pixels I dont realy follow why you have to pay for somthing that you have the materials for + you own the craft table to make a item....monsters are still out of wack with damage when it comes to ranged attacks and some melee and with the death penalty being higher Pixels are a constent annoyance for me....truth be if it stays the way it is ill be praying for a mod that flat out removes them or somthing of that nature....
it's a currency mechanic to act as a level barrier and also encourage good gameplay. the reason you're always out of money is from suicide flinging yourself everywhere all the time. if you minimise your deaths you'll never have problems with pixels, even a little bit of caution should net you more than enough money to buy whatever you want.
Except that it's not always a matter of caution right now. Poor framerates and poor luck in monster spawns (or falling on your head) can lead to deaths and auto-walking off sheer drops even if you are the epitome of caution.
this is 100% my general issue.... i have a early stage gun from pirates i know all the ways to cheese a fight despite not being able to hit through walls anymore when generally kill me is pretty much all that Moonfeather stated on top of the fact like i said monsters still get the better of you on those short end moments where a framerate lag will get a ranged attack in the face that seems to ALWAYS hit me for 2x - 3x more damage then a melee hit or somthing of that nature
Well I imagine damage and armor rates are still being tweaked, and eventually will be balanced out to not cause those single mistakes or glitches to be lethal. (I hope)
