I wouldn't expect a pvp mode to be implemented soon, the game is in its' very early stages. A pvp mode would introduce a lot more problems. Be patient, it will be here eventually.
game became a lot more playable and enjoyeable. But on ores, maybe too much easy to find (i am on 4th lvl)
Shields are still buggy and don't protect me when blocking On Snowplanets, it seems that the temperature of day and night is swapped (freezing when day, not freezing at night) Some Minibosses are way too strong (onehit with best armor of the current Tier) Grappling Hook along with Pulse Jump Tech is buggy (normal jump to disconnect the Hook uses Energy) Guns sometimes do no damage even if the bullet hits the target Bandages get more and more useless the better the armor you wear (because of max HP increase). Bandages should heal a set amount of PERCENT of max HP And please, please add a function to slay up or downwards with melee weapons! It's really frustrating to fight enemies at a cliff or a hill or in caves when you stand higher ( 2 blocks or something..) and you just can't hit them even if you stand directly next to them. Kills me every time when i have to jump into the monster because there's no other way to hit and kill it I think there should be a little advantage to stand in a higher position in terms of range and mobility And the two helmets craftable with 1 matter block and some hardened monster plates or something seems a little buggy

Pretty nice but still I have not seen everything. I'm at sector delta now and the game seems well balanced to me for now Only the lack of ranged weapons and "YAY THIS WEAPON/ARMOR/ITEM IS BADASS" disappoints me a little, but hey it's beta More to come with vehicles and stuff!

Just before the major update and subsequent character wipe, OmnipotentEntity was live streaming his coding work on Twitch for Starbound. Some of which was directional attacking with some melee weapons (not sure if its all of them or not yet). So that feature is coming its just not ready yet (to my knowledge).
especially if those weapons give him as much trouble as that spear was. Attacking to the right it was fine, the thrust effect went the way it was supposed to. Thrusting to the left... well... it looked like the thrust effect was trying to impale his character instead.
i'm so sick and tired of having to restart my character every time that an update is out sure i don't HAVE to but at the same time it is kind of ridiculous [i understand that it is the beta i just need to understand one thing... is it always going to be like this where you're character is always going to erased in order to sustain an update {even though there is no way tiyuri would allow this, because that would render that a pathetic game understandably}] -but all i'm saying is, are we going to have to restart ALWAYS in order to have an update, and when will it stop this anomaly from happening? all i need is an update and a date to where this problem will fade
There will never be a sure date... there is always the chance they could hit a game breaking bug, as for restarting does it really matter? as long as you just reporting bugs your never gonna really get that far. Not criticizing but thats what beta is for.
Not until stage 2 I believe, and none of us are certain when that stage will be implement. This game is just over a week old and still in need of balancing and a lot of feature implementation. But even then there may be one or two patches in stage 2 where the characters will be wiped. To date I think I've started around 15 characters (because I like to goof around and try things out). I personally won't be taking any character I make seriously until stage 3. This is all fun and bug hunting.
