Yay! Or nooooo..... Kinda hard to tell you how I feel but y'know I joined beta expecting character-wipes and such so I can't have that much of a problem with it. Thanks for posting.

I think everyone is really expecting the wipe for this patch, since its a balance update.

 

Keep in mind last time they said "tonight", it wasn't until 3AM central.

Let's hope that is not the case again.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not planning to wipe unless they make some HUGE changes. There is nothing gamebreaking yet, but until they add something spectacular I'd rather not undo my progress.

Store all your items on a planet, write down the coordinates, and go to the planet after the wipe.

 

nope, thats not true. you cant avoid it. the universe will be reset

Haven''t been able to play much for the last couple of days since I knew the wipe was coming.

 

The loss is unavoidable. The whole universe is regenerated and old cords won't even be valid anymore.

And how exactly are you going to get the game to load your character/galaxy when the game can no longer reads that data?

If this patch is not huge changes, then I don't know what is. They only completely redid the planet threat levels, monster levels, armor/weapon system, HP system, balancing curve, added the 4th tier, added a lot more guns/weapons/armor, added pixel banking/monster capturing, and probably too many bug fixes to list. I'm not going to give a source for everything, but all that has been mentioned to be included in this patch by Tiy or another dev.

Yeah I don't even get it, are you guys Neo from The Matrix? How are you gonna save your stuff if the Devs say that the Universe is going to be reset? Are you gonna fly through the corrupted bits and bytes and rescue your old character items and bring them into the new balanced world unharmed?

 

Can't wait am looking forward to the new level system.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but usually not the case with pre-released games. They can have steam force the update regardless of your settings and make it so you can't play without updating. Not saying they will do this, and you could always disconnect your internet and play in offline mode, but It seems really pointless to stick around in the old build. Everything changes in this next patch.. and the current build has serious balance issues from tier 2 onward.

It'll be like you just started the game up for the first time.

 

I had to wipe my characters anyway because my player files we're corrupted, so bring on the patch!
