I would recommend you shelf the game for now and wait for a further point in development down the line, and then grab all the mods you want for difficulty.

Personally I'd rather they let you start making Stargates after a certain point, maybe at the Durasteel tier. They'd cost a lot of resources and pixels but you could use them for instant travel between points in the gate network.

Oh look at you silly people and your "arguments" and your silly "condescending attitudes"

No, that's a bad idea. Speak out while the game is being built. Just try to be constructive about it rather than overly negative.

See this I wouldn't have a problem with. But when you hand out free coal AND free teleports. Then it's pandering

I'm totally OK with the cost to go back home, just not the time.

I love how almost everyone is butthurt.

    All of you.
Your butthurt meters are off the charts.

I can definitely get behind that, and it's in fact in the devs' plans. With any luck, the home teleport option will become a sensible part of that in the future.

My heartfelt thanks to you for your invaluable contribution to this discussion.

Yeah, for all we know the free home teleport thing is just a bandaid they put on until they can code up a more permanent solution. I mean, this game changed a lot in just the first week so any claims of this game being ruined after an update are really jumping the gun. They're trying out new things and seeing if they work.

    "This thread is just toxic.

Guys, we're going to do our best to make gameplay fun for everyone. Finding a happy balance here. Doesn't mean we're going to nerf everything to death and it also doesn't mean that everything is going to be DARK SOULS: PREPARE TO DIE EDITION level of hard.

That's pretty much all there is to say about it. Take all "Hardcores vs. Casuals" arguments elsewhere-- we're all just in it to have fun. Thanks!" - mollygos, Dec 9, 2013 Post #399

Calm down op game is still being balanced.

I distinctly remember you going on about how the coal rarity GLITCH was the best thing since sliced bread.. Screaming cords when anybody said it was remotely unfair and that they should just suck it up. Remember some of us didn't like the idea of spending five hours to get out of a sodding solar system, mate. And the whole home telaportation thing.. actually has potential. I found a planet with trees I love i took them down for the saplings so I can make my lovely base and actually be creative for once and not confined to a ship because its not worth spending half a stack of coal to get a world I liked once and had to move on. The potential to actually have a freaking home for once in this game is invaluable, because I'm not exactly enjoying the elements of Space Hobo Simulator 2013

It now takes 8 minutes to get over 1500 wood. 8 MEASLY minutes. 1000 wood gets you out of the solar system.

Everyone complaining about the "free" teleport back home...wow, just wow. Do you go to restaurants and complain to them that there is stuff on the menu you don't want? The logic boggles me. Did you know that if you just fly back to your home planet and DON'T use the teleport to home feature, then the game is exactly how you want it? Do you really need a setting that takes away that option for you (not that I'd begrudge a Hard as Hell mode). Do you really need to belittle players that like the feature that's not forced upon you?

On top of that, it's ONE planet. ONE! You get to teleport to ONE single place for free. How is that ridiculous or "easy" mode? Of the millions of planets in the game, they let you select one of them as a home planet. It doesn't make it any easier, it just changes the way you can play. It's the one place you want to colonize and build on, and I'm all for the coal you grind to be saved and used for actually exploring new places, not wasting on traveling back to your home. As someone who runs a server with about 15 people, I can tell you that this feature is very needed for for multiplayer servers. Once we build a couple things on our server home planet, we never saw anyway there again. Nobody wanted to waste fuel going back to socialize, check out what has been built, build more on the planet. It was lame.

And for those saying this isn't a "builders" game...you're out of your mind. Half the people that play this game are playing it for the creativity and sandbox building aspect. Before this teleport to home planet, nobody wanted to waste fuel to go back to their home. We used our ships for a house and never wasted time building anything but quick bunkers on planets because why waste fuel traveling back to a planet when you could go somewhere new.

Now, if you want to argue that fuel is too easy and it should cost twice as much to travel, or get rid of the refining of wood...okay, I'll go for that. That'd make the game harder, actually make you think long and hard about where you go next. But that has nothing to do with the teleport to home feature.
