Bug/Issue Pam Disappears

Has the pam disappearing glitch been fixed?
There's a glitch where Pam is removed from a save file some time after the bus stop was unlocked. She doesn't appear on your social page nor at the bus stop or in town. A while ago, ConcernedApe said on an AMA that he doesn't know what causes it.

If it hasn't been fixed, would it be possible to create a workaround where the game checks periodically whether Pam has been removed from the save file and, if she is missing, inserts a new default Pam file (or backup?)?

On PC it can manually be fixed but there's no easy solution for console. It's an unfortunate game-breaking bug. Just wondering if any progress has been made.
