If Ps3 and Xbox One can handle Terraria, 100% Portable can too especially when 3DS can run MH3U

I don't really see Starbound getting any bigger than the Ouya, PC, Mac or any other smaller ports. Nintendo and Playstation seems like a dream.

What point are you trying to make? Suggestions? Sarcasm?
    Be clear.

Definitely not, and even if it could, the native resolution would render it nigh unplayable since you wouldn't be able to see much or see it very clearly (and the bottom screen would have to be used for controls of some sort, no questions asked.)

port would be nice but first, we have to wait to pc release :)

I would think the 3DS would be able to handle it... either way a port on it would be awesome.

PC is the master race, why should Starbound lower itself to touching those other peasant consoles?

No one mentioned the Nvidia Shield: http://shield.nvidia.com/

Odd no one mentioned it yet. This is the only portable device that interests me in the least. Basically it's a portable gaming system for android games. It even connects to Google Play. Best yet, even if it doesn't have official support for a game it has the Play PC beta, which means you can stream games from your PC and shows Borderlands 2 on the Shield next to a PC. This is best, because I will be playing Starbound in my hands while the rest of you are waiting for NDS, PSVita, and Ouya releases that will likely never happen. Muhahaha.

Ouya needs a killer app or it's likely to end up stillborn.

Starbound looks like a killer app.

The requirements for publishing on Ouya are tiny and the barriers to patching virtually non-existant.

Why not publish on Ouya and use the capital that (might) bring to then port eventually to 3DS and PSP at a later date? Seems like the easiest way to expand the platforms that Starbound is on with the least amount of money-sinking on the part of the developers.

    [EDIT]

Going the Terraria route and selling publishing rights to a different company to put it on a different platform might work, too.

Yeah but I don't want to play with ALL those yucky console gamers...

The Ouya is so PC like. It even supports keyboard and mouse. The patching... it's all there. But imagine a Starbound universe where you have to ask someone which system they are on.

That would be neat. Personally I don't own any of those portables.

Taking a while for me to get used to playing games without huge horrible lag 5 minutes in since i fixed my heating issue, it feels odd not having to ride out huge FPS drops after doing it for a month or two.

  14. Ouya is not made for power, more for casual games. It's now a powerful console comparing to the new XBOX or PS4.

But i'm SURE, Starbound will end up in consoles. If it is successful as Terraria or even more it will, what company would refuse MILLIONS of copies sold in the consoles ports version?

I would get Starbound in PS4, since PS4 allows Indies to publish themselves without a publisher that make it more possible to one PS4 version be more updated and a better port than those third-party publishers needed till now.

Still, i don't see Starbound to be that successful in portable consoles, unless there a very good port to them.

The reception of the OUYA has been less than stellar, I say just leave Starbound as a PC exclusive, Terraria's console port wasn't very great either. Not everything needs to be ported to consoles/handhelds.

Yeah, I heard the backer "first-run" console were pretty bad, I would say give the OUYA a little more time before counting it out because it has just entered a hard market and could get better with time, or fail in a horrible fireball. I do agree not everything needs to be ported but we are getting to the point where people want a mobile version of everything (I mean this whole topic is about porting a game that does not even commercially exist yet) because we want to play are favorites on the go.

I'm already counting Ouya out. Specs show an ARM Cortex-A9 1.7GHz quadcore CPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, and 8GB storage on what is basically a fixed flash drive. This is basically a crappy computer using cheap parts, mass manufactured Apple-style (mean that in a negative way) to get price down. After 10 minutes of digging into it as much as possible everyone who put their hands on it tends to say it's not so good. One even said ""Ouya isn't a viable gaming platform, or a good console, or even a nice TV interface." Link here bottom of page - http://www.theverge.com/2013/4/4/4180242/ouya-review

Also the game selection is pure crap for the Ouya so far. But I have always been a PC gamer, not a casual gamer. My opinon for anyone looking at this, save the $99 and just get a barebones kit from somewhere. A $10 USB controller and you got something 10x better for maybe 3x-4x the cost of an Ouya.

Actually Playstation isn't so far fetched considering the fact that the PS4 will support indy games.

I saw a lackluster review on it myself and it is likely something i would not really buy. I would still wait a bit (since it just launched) to see if it remains lousy or if they attempt to fix it (likely with a price increase). The game selection is crap, it might get better or it might stay crap, that kinda depends on if the console sells good or they make it sellable before they go bankrupt. I don't think it will ever be something serious gamers would want but despite being crappy it might sell decently with casual gamers. Really I just want to see how this attempt at an "indie console" goes.

Commodore! Right? I'm adding to the discussion right?

I don't see myself playing Starbound on anything other then my PC right here, I don't have a great history with ports...
