    Well you don't necessarily have to look at the guides unless you want to find the best outposts. I also agree with you on settled planets I rather each race have there own individual settled planet with a minority of other races. I don't think everybody on the same planet would last very long they would just form groups of each race and fight each other since there very different, the only way I could see that working is something like the Mass Effects Citadel with a security group like C-Sec to keep everybody under control.

    I love this btw. and I'm not too clear on what you are trying to get at d16. the outpost(s) being multi-species doesn't mean the floran,avian, and apex towns/villages/settlements will suddenly disappear or not get their own quests as well.

    An outpost can be any Size. But it should not be "forced" in size by Planet size itself

    Small planet, little outpost, Huge Planet Big outpost for excample

    There should be Destroyed outposts aswell as "Under Construction" , or "Robbed" or "overtaken" ones :D

    maby some BoobieTrap outposts that explode once you try to loot from them, or the npc turn into evil brain eating aliens after you feel comfortable and lay down into a bed resting....

    Love it I can't wait for it to be implemented. It'll be waay easier to find an outpost rather than scavenge a planet for a gun vendor.

    Looks like an abandoned U.S.C.M bunker, I'll check the database and see if I can locate one if those specs, seems to have been abandoned for quite a while, maybe used as a shelter judging by the burning barrel.

    Hey guys, sorry if it was answered already but will those textures and blocks and furnitures become craftable? That design is SWEET! Would be awesome to use it to build some bases with your friends. Also a great addition to the StarboundRP community!

    you misunderstand me.

    they have stated that ALL races will mingle in outposts.

    i am not talking about individual settled sites on planets, but a new planet type consisting of mostly settled area (roughly 60% or more of planet surface) by one race. note that this does not preclude other settlements on the other 40% of the planet.

    this art for outposts would be just dandy as a type of human settlement (seems to follow their aesthetic, anyway), the work does not have to go to waste. the concept is counter to several design and lore principals, however.

    and again, it kills exploration. even without referring to external sources like a coords thread. i need to sell something? all i have to do is browse the starmap till i find an outpost. i dont have to search planets till i find a merchant or market. even if the presence of large and small settlements were revealed from the starmap, there is no guarantee that those would not be dungeons or random housing.

    so, yes, outposts are two parts bad idea, one part decent gameplay mechanics. pretty much all parts against both established lore and design principals.

    My misundersanding probably cam from me percieving the outpost idea as some sort of interstelllar trade hub of sorts. everyone may go there. but there would be blood on the decks if someone looked at a floran wrong.

    kills exploration? not really. in real life hubs never stopped explorers. in games that don't make sense hubs don't stop explorers. it seems like you're making silly arguments for the sake of arguing, man.
