Bug/Issue Other player disconnects from multiplayer server within a few minutes

Exactly what the title says, I'm trying to play with someone else and we can't play for more than about 5 minutes before the non-host gets booted. I'm certain other people have had the same issue, from 5 minutes of googling, but all similar threads date back a year.

What we've tried so far:
- Both of us hosting
- Reinstalling Microsoft C++ redistributables x86 2013
- Using Hamachi (We just get stuck on a black loading screen)
- Verifying game cache
- Restarting PCs

I'm honestly stumped on what could possibly be the issues, I would assume it has something to do with one of our connections or something like that. I'm using an ethernet cable, while she is using WI-FI.

Any help is appreciated...!
