The big question is, however, if the update changes the way, the random numbers (which are generated by the seed) are used.
If it does (which i guess), the world may be totally different from before the patch

 

The higher the zoom, the less is shown on the screen (less pixels have to be rendered, etcetera). Don't worry about the resolution too much, as long as it's the native resolution, or at least the same aspect ratio as the native resolution (if it's an LCD monitor). I've seen many different resolutions used for monitors, though amusingly, I've only ever seen 1366x786 on two laptops.The three common ones that I've seen thus far is 1600x900, 1440x900, 1280x786, and 1024x786.
I remember when I finally got a monitor that supported 1024x786 instead of 800x600 or even 640x480. At the time I could've sworn that the desktop itself was 3D, but that wore off pretty quickly.

I want to see if it's possible to use ENBseries to boost the performance of this game, it'd be interesting. (I used it to boost the performance of Skyrim) And yes I know it's normally use to increase the quality of the game, but I've seen plenty of performance boosting mods for it as well.

And trust me, I know where you're coming from, the only reason I got my Geforce 8600GTS, was because it got thrown away because of overheating issues (I just put on fresh thermal compound and it stopped overheating).
My current gaming system which has the AMD FX-6100, I only got because TigerDirect had a bare-bones kit on sale for just under $300 and I knew damn well that I wasn't going to get a gamer any cheaper. In fact I only recently got this one a few months back, before hand, I had no computer for about 3 years, I used a Motorola Triumph that was given to me by a friend to access the internet. The other system we had, just sat around until last year when I finally got 2GB of DDR2 RAM for it, I just recently found three more sticks of 512 MB each to put in.

 

Would the update fix the multiplayer connectivity thingy?

Seeing as items, weapons and armor is changed, Its pretty likely that everything will be cleaned. I doubt your tactic will work, but your more than welcome to give it a shot.

 

I want to say world generation is tied into your character. Even if I'm wrong, they should be resetting everything regardless since the patch is addressing item balance.

 

I think it makes it worse when they tell us they're going to wipe characters. I'm all for the wipe, I understand the necessity for it,...and hell, I just like starting over. However, by telling us they're going to do it... I have a hard time playing now, knowing it is all going to be gone in a couple days lol. If I were to just log on one day, and it was all gone... I'd be ok with that... I wouldn't be dealing with this anticipation lol.

 

It's not something that's fixable. If you want people to connect to a server you host, you 'need' to have the right ports open. True for any game you can host your own server for. It's easy once you get the hang of it, though. I recommend doing it once a day. Learning through repetition and all that. Takes me approx. 30 seconds now, and I'm no genius xP

 

This isn't something new to the announcement. You got a warning day 1 when Beta was announced. You were told they were deleting character.

This is not a surprise announcement. If you're surprised, perhaps you should not be participating in the Beta.

 

For awhile, I never even bothered to create an account after Disqus stopped being use because I thought, "what's the point all that will happen is that my comments/suggestions will get ignored".

wish i knew if its out tonight or not! havent played sence they sead they may have a caracter wipe, really want to know if they will have the wipe and what time its coming. cant wait to play, one of the best 15 dollars spent so far on this game , really satisfied whit it!

you make an interesting point. although it's more like $17 for me due to exchange rates.

for this $15 i've _already_ had more playtime than AAA+ $100 titles i've bought over the years.

what i'm saying is, compared to other games i've played, i've ALREADY gotten my moneys worth. and the game isn't even close to being finished yet.

 

Waiting for the update ... Maybe we must fastened the devs to their computer, put them in chains and have Chtulhu watch them ...

My character want to get wiped

Dude that's exactly how I feel as well. I played the game so much until the system makeover announcement. I can't wait to start over again as I'm all for the wipe and love starting over especially with new content!

 

i have the same problem, friends and i have build such a nice place to live, that we will be crying when all is gone. almost like when we called the first time the Tier1 Boss "after the patch"
But on the other point, im allready thinking what we could do better on oure next capital citiy
any way, keep going with the good work, i love it so much
