right now I'm running an 8-core Viper Sword II CPU overclocked at 800 THz with 512gb of RAM and dual liquid nitrogen-cooled Raptor Shockwave GDDR9X GPU's with 100gb dedicated video memory, 900 yotabyte Polar Bear SSD hardrive, 16 USB 5.0 ports, dual 46" ANNIHILATOR 1280i 3D HD monitors. still lags.
Well, I honestly can say, that aside from a few minor problems that I managed to fix, Starbound has been an excellent experience for me. I truly hope that those who are having problems will be able to experience as smooth of one that I've had thus far. Great job Chucklefish, great job. I actually have a little notepad next to my keyboard that I record any coordinates to planets that I've found interesting or turns out to be a great source of fuel, etcetera.
this is the most excited beta ive ever seen, people werent even this crazy for swtor and other major title betas that i took part in. this game though, i can tell it will have a very long very active lifespan so long as the devs and the community keep up the enthusiasm. it has pretty much limitless potential, especially if later on it becomes open to modding and large dedicated servers.
I have run through the whole game. gotten to max armor(36) and only gun i have found is a bubble gun. shooting decorative bubbles doing no damage lol
yeah i heard the new Exaggerator 12core 864bit 500hz is all the rage.. but it too will be obsolete soon enough
Since the XP issues should be fixed now will the Nvidia issues be worked on in the next update? I have a love hate relationship because Starbound is amazing and beautiful but I can only get 1-5 fps >.<
bah I wish the reset would happen now I appreciate the warning of big changes, but warning that there is going to be a reset... that's just cruel lol
Definitely waiting on graphics de-grade options: weather, lighting, backgrounds, moving plantlife, texture quality etc..
i dont blame you for xp i still love it and use it on my laptop, but dude nvidias have terrible compatibility with a lot of games. ATI all the way! they have durability and they hold their own even a couple years after their release like their HD 6000 series which is still the most common gaming card out there. nvidias are famous for crapping out or just not working at all so they constantly release new series of cards to make up for it. still, theres no reason at all that this game shouldnt work for both xp and nvidia gpus. its 2d dx9 for crying out loud.
