Other bits and pieces coming with the balance update

This is complete bullshiz! Of all the games I have seen I have never seen one that wipes out characters so much! Surely they can do this without wiping the characters!

Other games developers have done it, so they should be able to do aswell.
Unless if there is a reason that they do this, it complete crap.

 

Awesome, updates are always welcome.
Can only dream that some admin tools are around the corner since a lot of us have already started putting out dedicated servers.

 

But at least you saw it.

Jeez, if you hate the save wiping that much..

 

They announced that saves would be wiped regurarily, so stop playing if you have an issue with it. If you can't resist playing, don't get too attached to your characters.

I spent 48 hours on my first character, and I couldn't care less that it was wiped. I had loads of fun, and the new update added a bunch of stuff to the game. It's like starting fresh all over again, and again and again until the game goes live.

You need to learn the meaning of a "beta". The game isn't finished, and just an FYI, 95% of all games that have betas like this completely wipe before launch. If they didn't wipe now, they would wipe later.

 

they're all talking about the update this morning, which is the confusion on the whole save wiping. took me some time to realize it myself, but i could just be stupid. And i wasn't blaming chucklefish or starbound, i was venting my frustration that the game wasn't updating right. What's agonizing is that i try to update the game, get a screen saying 9 minutes remaining as if it downloaded the update at super fast speeds, or was close to done, and tries to launch the game; only to tell me it can't launch the game, and that i have a hard drive read error. Steam also decides to open up a site of it's own saying it can't find the executable for it......

I'm honored to have made you so happy. Yep, I'll let you in on a secret... I didn't obtain Sonic the Hedgehog 3 or Sonic and Knuckles until GameStop (EB Games) put the Genesis games into the Dollar bin. I was probably the happiest person that day, bringing home those games.

And yes, VHS is analog; It wasn't until Digital 8 (not technically VHS) that the video and sound were stored Digitally on cassette (at least from what I can recall).

I want a reason for why my character is gone. It's fully possible to avoid it, so WHY IS MY FUCKING CHARACTER GONE?

 

They have no reason to explain the programming of the game to you. Maybe it saves them an hour of time or it would just be too difficult. It doesn't matter. You said that character wipes were okay just by playing the beta. It has been said time and time again. Also, caps lock and red font doesn't make you look cool, it just makes you seem like an eight year old. Don't comment if you don't have something interesting to add to the conversation.
