There are also still some major fps issues within the game. I've tried deleting my steam.exe files and starbound.exe doesnt exist in the folders that I checked. But even after deleting the steam.exe the latency around mobs on screen and by dungeons are horendous. The game is barely playable with a few monsters on screen. If anyone has a better solution or temporary solution to this problem, feel free to reply :p

I think he's talking about being able to swing your weapon in different directions. At least I hope that's what he means.

I'm pretty satisfied with how the weapons work though.

Exactly my point. By giving weapons different angles... that would be giving it a slightly more pvp aspect.

Just the movement of it for melee purposes... not PVP...
Please take the time to read it and the context before jumping all over it.

    Which, I probably should have added, was my point when I wished to add that the Gamecube was even older than the 2006 date given earlier ^^;

This said, I did love that small little damn console :p

ehhhh... Thats what i'm saying. Giving it multiple angles is creating more if a pvp game like it or not.... besides, if we want to discuss this it should be on the suggestions page, not here.

I only have one question for this change in levels from 100 to 10

When there was 100 levels in each sector you would find planets with different levels, that make me want to explore all the difficulties in each level. Since there is only 1 level per sector what's the point of exploring other planets in the same sector instead of just gather what u need in the first planet and travel to the next sector to find a new experience/difficulty?

In my opinion kind of make all the other planets a little useless for exploring!

What exactly did you deliver? Other than an impolite demeanor and non-constructive, entirely negative responses?

No, I asked for an approximate ETA on when the fix would be pushed. You seem to have a different definition of "update" than I do. Coincidentally, your definition of "literally" also seems rather skewed, as I quite literally said none of the things you have accused me of word for word. I understand that you're frustrated because you don't have any actual facts to form rebuttals with - but grasping at straws isn't going to change that. It's a very simple premise.

Judging by the high volume of players who didn't even realize that wipes were going to be occurring (admittedly there own fault for not reading, but completely relevant in the context of our discussion), it would again seem that your broad generalization (the bolded area above) is woefully inaccurate.

I also take offense to your "but I just want to test out the beta crap" bit, as you have no idea what my intentions are and they certainly don't match everyone else's (free will is an amazing thing, eh?). The entire reason I purchased this game was to assist with the development as a tester, that is my one and only objective as far as Starbound is concerned. The problem here is that you just make one assumption after another, then try to back that assumption up with inaccuracies and misinformation, when the reality of the situation is so far from what you seem to think that regardless of what I say you'll still run the same circle over and over and over rather than just stopping to realize what my original message actually was.

This whole white knight act is comical, for some reason you seem to feel the need to defend the developers, when there is no need because there is nothing to defend them from.

Yet, there are plenty of people doing just that. Playing with no intent of "testing", they are simply playing a game they purchased. Nothing more and nothing less.

Also, who is this "we" you keep referring to? I'm fairly certain you only speak for yourself.

I never claimed it was. Your point?

I personally never tried to deny them that simple pleasure, nor would I.

I work 16 hour shifts, five days a week, I'm well aware of the effect long hours have on an individual and I'm nowhere near so callous as to try and claim otherwise. I simply said that a short response would be appreciated, that was all. You blew it way out of proportion and assumed I was just some ingrate who has zero gratitude for the effort the developers are putting in, which quite clearly isn't the case.

Which is exactly what I'm doing: taking part in other activities while I wait.

For once in my life? Wow. Again, an insulting remark to make, as if you know me or my habits.

End remark: another insult. Why am I not surprised?

    Yes.... you are. Blatantly.

I agree, it sucked to be an XP user when it was first opened.

You paid for a chance to be a part of the development process.

Nobody cared? Is that why they addressed the XP issue in the FIRST PATCH?

By participating in the open beta, you are acting as an extended QA department for Chucklefish. You are ALLOWED to play the game with the hopes that the community at large will help to point out bugs and broken features. You were not promised anything. You were not guaranteed anything. You took a gamble playing the beta of a game with an old operating system and you lost. Fortunately for you, the dev team was quick to address the issue but even if they didn't you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

I repeat: Pointing out errors and problems = Good. That's basically our 'jobs' while participating in the beta.
Complaining about the rate at which the dev team pays attention to your specific issue and proclaiming they promised you something they didn't = Bad.

What I'm assuming (and I haven't tested or researched this yet) is that what they plan is to have the Alpha Sector be level 1, and within that sector are planets ranging from, say, 1 to 10 like before. But the weapons and armor will be nerfed/changed so that it's easier to progress through the Alpha Sector and then transition into the Beta Sector. That way, unlike before, you won't need high level second-to-third tier weapons and armor that are hard to get just to barely survive the Beta Sector.

Not only that but each planet will still have all the different sizes and biomes and dungeons and friendly houses, so they're still worth exploring if you want specific furniture or to look around for upgrades.

And even if this theory doesn't come to pass, it would mean they could make the sectors smaller and allow that memory usage to go into something more useful or pre-planned.

Wow the big "balance" update really made the game Ball-Bustingly hard now  - Shields dont seem to block any damage anymore (15 damage with, 15 damage without, from testing), monsters do 2 to 3 times more damage (20-40 damage at level 1!), you cant fuel your ship with Unprocessed wood anymore, so you need coal for Torches, Ship fuel AND Steel which makes even the abundance thats currently available not enough, monsters seem to drop less pixels per difficulty than before, I cant find ANY non-level 1 planets, Energy Regenerates slower, Fall damage is RIDICULOUSly strong now now and also buggy (when jumping out of water I take fall damage sometimes?), Iron suddenly seems like the rarest ore in the galaxy, I STILL CANT REBIND THE "DROP ITEM" BUTTON which is REALLY ****ing annoying since Q makes it so I keep accidentally dropping my pick off a cliff or into a pool of lava, which means I get to craft a new stone, copper, silver and gold pick now, not just a new gold one.

But, suddenly I can 2 shot the UFO with the iron bow for 110 damage a shot and any weapon at any level seems to 1 shot enemies? Really unbalanced the game with this patch it seems like o-O
Like I get they revamped the damage and armor systems and they're still tweaking stuff, but whats with stuff like the ship fuel change and still no key rebinds? And Its kinda wierd that the Bosses and the Shields werent factored in the patch o_O
Not trying to sound particularly angry just really confused at some of the decisions made this patch =s

I found this really awesome tier 2 spear.. owned it with primitive tech... lol, anyway if no one is following the twitter, someone says there is meant to be an other update on the way.. not sure it could just be bug fixes.... ill quote it "Today's update MAY not require a character wipe, but we will need to do at least one more character wipe in the future. sorry"

Ahh Tax Collector, you rely too much on logic and well constructed sentences with good grammar to get your point across, that just never gonna work on the internets.
