Other bits and pieces coming with the balance update

idk if you saw my post earlier but update is out. I'm playing annoyed koala on steam (mac) and i have a character wipe

 

From Starbound page on Facebook. One hour ago.

The update's out! Characters were wiped. Sorry! We did warn that that would happen during the first stage of beta.

Here's the thing, though: Weapon damage was broken somewhere along the way, and the patch we're going to push to fix it is probably also going to have to wipe character saves.

Massive apologies for that. Beta problems, yknow? Thank you for your understanding and patience!

I think they should probably™ fix the game before they add more missions, but.... I mean, that's your prerogative I guess.

Hi i'm new here, bit i've followed this thread since the first post. i heard about a new wipe have they released any information yet ? when do you guys think the update will come and is it worth waiting again all night ?

 

I don't really have any problems yet with this build of the game...?
It does seem like they buffed fall damage though? lol

 

Yeah, i also heard someone else say that they have. i cant say, i didnt notice it.

 

Seems like you take the damage falling a much shorter distance.

I like that my comparing XP to gamecube turned this into an "I love GameCube" thread.

But really, when you realize that GameCube and XP came out within months of each other, it makes it seem kind of silly that everyone is whining about the devs not making sure that XP was fully supported on day one of the beta.

Wiping is to be expected, no issue there.

Any type of ETA on when they will push the patch to fix the broken Weapon Damage? I can't seem to locate any info on it other than the FB and Twitter updates. Could we possibly get a Dev response regarding an approximate timeframe? It would be greatly appreciated.

 

Oh god, fall damage buffed? Avoiding sudden death syndrome even in the last patch was finnicky to say the least...

Ps:maybe not so in response to the "patch creating more problems..." understandable I guess. Diablo 3 trained me up for this very occasion!

 

Yes, this would be nice to know!!! I haven't really played this game in a few days because of the KNOWN character wipe that was coming with this new patch. Now Today I get on and got all stoked to play again and then to top it off I found 5 diamonds and now your whipping me again! (not to worried about the whipping) I just would like to know when I can start seriously playing again!!

Another problem i see if u got more hp than 100, after u died u only got 100 hp and u can sleep in ur bed to get full hp

 

I just want to test the new system for Weapon Damage, but I can't do that if the system itself is broken

Hence, my curiosity regarding when the fix will go live.
