Other bits and pieces coming with the balance update

Fact is: All we know is characters are going to be wiped. Will that include what they build? I'd say it's quite likely.
But even with certain changes to the planet generation - nothing has been said about coordinates/seeds no longer working. So lets remain hopeful.

Heheh... imagine them coming across a game breaking bug in playtesting. "Sorry guys, we'll need a few more days to work the kinks out of this one."

i expect it will be the entire saves, i doubt anything that you did or made will be left, i expect the worlds' coordinates to be the same. but i wouldn't count on stuff being there. if your stuff was still there then why would the saves need to be erased? because of monsters? i doubt just them, cause they spawn, but your equipment is made, and so if they change the stuff you make then it could potentially screw up the saves because of extra values and or missing values in the save. so instead of having everyone complain that their old characters are bugging out after this update, they elect to simply remove the existing saves.

ooh this update is 50% bigger than the usual ones...

 

If I have to start over with my chracter, then I'd rather start over with my planets.

Considering old weapons will be broken (which is why the characters will get deleted), then the chances that planets are being destroyed are the same. They won't want you to use your old weapons found in chests, right?

 

Why is everyone saying restart steam? o.o Just update it like a normal person
