In fairness, this "planet" was a dead star.

Damn I thought this thread was a joke but the second I clicked on it I think it just spoiled the surprise of new ores. Doesn't matter, with this we can find out which ore is stronger than each other and have set up tiers for what might be the "best" defense.

Baconite should be a rather easy ore to add via modding.

That's dumb and doesn't make sense.

Bacon Mining Industries would still require payment for getting the resources to other individuals. Not to mention the costs and hazards attached to supplying said food supply to other regions of the Galaxy, like some kind of rebel militia surrounding a starving village on a planet. Sorry, galactic hunger can't be quite solved that way X3. But it's a neat idea.

That's a good idea and should be implemented in my opinion. :)
However that also requires you to hover your cursor over every ore you see as opposed just knowing at a glance.

As it is Forcetrium, Solarium, Rainbow Rock and Moonstone already have rather unique shapes.
But yea you raise a good point about how small the sprites are, for example Aegisalt is shaped differently than Gold but I could see myself mistaking one for the other under some types of light anyway.

    Visual effects could also help.
Solarium glows, which makes it stick out.
That's an additional thing that makes it easier to tell apart, at least in darkness.

If Diamonds sparkled or if Uranium caused Geiger counter sounds when nearby those would be more cool ways to not only help colorblind people tell them apart but make them more unique to everyone.

To be honest I'm only slightly colorblind, and for me the worst offenders seem to be the ingots.
Rhodium and Kyrenite look almost the same to me. A simple R on one and K on the other ingot would be nice.
True I can probably just hover over them with my mouse in my inventory, but it'd be faster if I could tell with a glance.

Baconite. Your argument is invalid and untasty.

There is Obtanium and Forcetrium. His argument is unobtainable and triforceple invalid.

well I really hope it won't cause you all that much of trouble Sykes. I bet you're pretty upset about the leak.

This is why when you want feedback on NDA material, you show the colorblind people in real life, so they cant copy the image and send it everywhere.

As a true miner it shouldnt matter. Mine all the things!

Why do you always post stuff like this in every thread? I really don't understand. I guess it's fine to put one or two "jokes" (they really aren't funny. Sorry.) in a couple threads, but every single thread is really kind of annoying.

I'm not going and attacking you or anything, just giving a bit of advice, but really man, you might want to consider thinking about your posts before you post them.

I like how they're all grouped by their ore-formation.

All the fuels look the same; Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum look the same, and so on.

I don't think he deserves any, at least.

The action was understandable and trying to make this nicer for colorblind people is a noble reason to screw up :p

And its only a few ores. On that note, they should get a dedicated colorblind person to test their stuff.

And the game will probably need a colorblind mode, especially with that many ores.

The title may as well be alloys leaked as well as ores leaked, steel is an alloy, and i'm betting we're going to see some alloying coming up in game.
