Oreally? you like it that much? especially when Platinum, was not showing anywhere below level 34+ planets, and you need it to craft level 13-25 armor penetration? I don't know why gold and silver should be soo rare, they get pretty much obsolete after you get to steel, so yeah.

As most people post here with the complaints, they obviously visit this site frequently, so I think the patch notes should indeed be put in a news post on here as well to prevent such cases.

It won't completely eliminate the issue, but it will make a lot of things clearer. I think there are even some people that don't realize the patch notes are also in the launcher, because you have to scroll down for them. Fixing that would be another step in the right direction.

Yeah but people have to scroll down, not so many realize it :p

Would be better if they were ontop, the buttons could be put below.

From the patch notes: - "Ore rebalance (probably way way too much ore at the moment, will be fixed later, enjoy it)"

You are just lucky ... I have found almost no trees and only a few patches of copper and coal as resources so far.
On the other hand I found a huge (robot?) temple + underground complex, whose guardians were rather easy to kill with my riot sword (easier than the mostly hostile local wildlife) and which supplied me with my first effective melee weapons (which, btw. was absolutely necessary as the hostility of the wildlife prevented me from exploring the surroundings in order to find more wood ... now, with my new standard weapon with 41 DPS, it is just one hit kills :D)

This sums up the internet itself quite nicely.

But on a more constructive note you both have valid points in this case. Yes people should search but ALSO if you can't be bothered to put the complete patch notes up on your own forum why even have a forum and not just do everything through reddit or whatever other site you use?

So yah I dug around that Apex Test Base I mentioned earlier and ventured into an adjacent cave that lead right down to the molten core (wasn't very far)
I ended up with 79 Gold and 73 Silver.
It feels a bit too much now but again - I could got lucky - need to check other planets too.
But yah... pretty much just like the patchnotes said.

Hey. This is a community where we're supposed to help each other, so how about you tone down the superiority.

As moderator here you should post Topic, stick it to the top and write all information needed, the lock all unnessesary topics.

I'm not talking about not being polite (trust me i'm very polite) i'm talking about clean forum without milion of topics about the same.

Well, good for you. I can't find a single sh^t on my planet. Tons of copper and iron, but a simple silver? Nope!

Like with damage, the devs are probably experimenting with extremes so to better find an acceptable middle ground later on.

Yeah... That's you, and then there's other people who don't wonder about that unless it is shoved into their face.

The fact that you and I do it correctly, doesn't mean everybody will.

Here's the deal, the initial condescending post you started with, created several after, aka spam. If you want to keep it clean, then how about offering the search suggestion, maybe putting the link to the notes in this same forum, and calling it good. Or, if that's more than you want to do, ignore the post and move on. This is a problem in every forum on the internet, "I don't like your post for x reason, so I'm going to complain about it the spam of it" and thus the thread continues to come back to the top.

This would have prevented all of the following posts about it.

Side note, I don't "see MB downloading" because I purchased through Steam, I don't see there are patches. It happens without being "in my face". Heck, the last patch I didn't even realize was there though I noted things were behaving differently (which the notes mention).

As far as the original post, the fact that one person has seen this and others haven't is probably good discussion on whether or not the change is too much, etc.

To be fair I try and check the latest tweets on Starbound homepage before hitting the forums, but I do miss some of the reddit back and forth. Nothing a little amateur sleuthing can't solve. That screenshot does show some considerable ore spread. I kind of like it. It's purposely tuned higher for testing and we know the old system of "nodes on surface don't bother digging below" was weak so maybe we'll find a happy medium. The concentration of ore didn't bother me in OP's screen shot but a better assessment would be how far apart are various clusters? If the same amount of ore can be found 80 blocks away in either direction, might need to be reworked. Personally I like some of the higher tier ores being in small pockets of 9-12 and scattered with maybe a mother-lode every 1,000 or so blocks. Makes it more likely you'll keep digging through the crumbs to find that sweet honeypot of metallic goodness. Oh. Ore. This could be considered a silly form of carrot on a stick but gotta get them bars somehow. I've got Glitch-orphans to feed.
