Ore Gen Completely Screwed?

30 mins in on a new character and im finding all this
theres literally gold and silver everwhere
This is also my starter planet and im not even deep underground
Thoughts?

 

Lucky, i am having trouble finding gold atm, Can i have those coords?

 

I hope this isn't what they had in mind.. I quite liked the old gen, though silver was a bit too rare. This is just silly, though.

 

They bumped up the ore generation for testing. lol They noted it may be too high, and that you should enjoy it while it lasts.

 

Can you read patch notes, then try to post anything?

 

purely the patch has ore generation at an all time high will tweak and fix accordingly after they've had time to do things more pressing

 

Where exactly can i find them notes your talking about

 

they should be up on the launcher i believe, and a few people have posted about the forums.. but its hard to find amongst all the angst

I haven't started mining down yet. But look at all that cheddar. Some people haven't found much though from what I've heard so meh seems like its just certain instances where ore is getting out of whack.

To be fair lots of people don't realize Tiy posts a lot on reddit, and it's kind of confusing why things like that aren't posted on this site as frequently.

 

When you see your game updating with not a 10 mb but much more, jest get urself to google and type "Starbound patchnotes" Seek date near your actiual one and voila, patchnotes are being readed while game is updating, that's something!

 

You got a pretty good starter planet.

My new planet has a friendly village full of everything I need, but ore is otherwise scarce.

 

I found some gold around an underground Apex Testing Facility (those who give you Tech). Gold was deep enough underground to make the music stop.
I haven't had the chance to dig it up yet so I don't know if there's too much.
But I have to say that Gold was especially hard to come by before - for me anyway. I started Stripmining lvl 16 worlds without any luck. Going higher would have monster one shot me.
Even digging down to the molten core of a planet I only stumbled over miniscule deposits - 4 Gold ore could be considered Motherlode!
So while I had over 1000 copper and iron 500 steel (+enough coal to make 700 more) and around 300ish silver I had a hard time getting the materials for the gold armor so I could instantly change that to Steel.
My short venture to Tier 3 proved the same issue with Platinum and Titanium. While Titanium was abundand everwhere I haven't stumbled over even a single Platinum!

So yah old system was kinda bad... new one might be a bit overabundand but we'll have to test this first. Some of us might have gotten lucky.

 

I am aware of how google works, thanks. The point is that not all people realize that patch notes are posted somewhere else. Especially since some of them were posted here already it's natural to assume that's all the patch entails.

 

Even if they don't know, everyone should search first, then post. hm?

 

Sure, but when they are unaware that patch notes are posted on another site as opposed to the official site it's easy to think that the information posted on the official site would be everything in the notes. It's really just a weird choice to prioritize reddit over their own site. People that come to this site to see what was added see an incomplete list without any knowledge of there being another list on another website. Get it? They don't search google because for all they knew they already saw the whole list.
