Opinion: What's missing in Starbound

I'd also like mobs that interact with other mobs. A sort of ecosystem, where predators and prey mobs are determined, and you can watch prey flee from the larger (Or smaller!) predators if you stay back a bit.

    Hello,

I think that mainly starbound should have more races, a book that you can write in and name and some different looking signs that you can write on.

I'm aware, Sorry, just having a bit of fun. I should have said at the end of my last post that it was sarcastic, still quite a few of those old lists are things I bought the game hoping would be in there.

Planet Log and Bookmarking (There is already a mod for it though)
ELEVATORS! Why is no one missing that? Making a metroid style elevator or a rope pulley platform... or maybe even a rack railway.
The Skyrail tech is ok, but its not the same...

Speaking of Skyrails and on the topic of what's missing in Starbound: How do you even ride the Skyrails? Before the update there was a Skyrail Rider Tech (Awful name, btw. Should be called Sky-Hook / Ring / Halo.)
    • I've built / purchased the Skyrail Station and looked through it, but I see no tech or harness. I did notice the new types of tracks though.
    • I've checked the Tech section of S.A.I.L. and I have re-checked every time I've gotten new techs, but it was never listed.
    • I have reached and completed T6 crafting.
    • The only thing left to do is finish getting the last 2 ship upgrades.
    • I've also tried placing a few standard Skyrails down to see if my character rides it automatically, but still nothing.
I purposely picked the Novakid race (despite wanting a melee character) after seeing their fully upgraded ship because I loved the idea of having one long Skyrail track to get from one end of the train to the other. All of the other ships have rooms/modules spread across multiple floors with those pesky gaps in the floor and/or ceiling. Is there something I'm missing?
    • Do I have to get the ship fully upgraded to unlock the necessary tech from S.A.I.L.?
    • Do I have to place down a section of Breaker Rail (should be called Braker Rail) or Booster Rail to automatically board the rail?
    • Do I have to complete a specific quest to get the tech as a reward?
    • Do I have to press or hold down a hotkey that I'm not aware of?
    • Or is the ability to ride the rail missing from the new update completely?
    Thanks for any help =)

    I'd like a Universe Apocalypse mode where;
    • fiery rocks or icicles rain down on you and everything is out to get you.
    • Exploding Planets on a timer which insta-kill you.
    • Crash landing on "earth" and surviving against hordes of mutant tentacle monsters.
    • Running away from the tentacle infected worlds
    • Building a mud hut at night to hide from the scary monsters which spawn and mob you at night
    • drowning because my mod hut gets flooded by the enviroments
    • Trying to start a farm above ground and dying to a random stampede of raptors
    • crying because the stampede ruined my crops
    • and finally dying to hunger and cold temperatures at night because i ran out of fuel supply to power my campfire.

    But in all seriousness...
I'd love an Apocalypse mode >.<

Hi have been playing StarBound for many hours daily and there's definitely a need for scarier mobs, the cute mobs are great but some evil looking mobs are needed ALSO here to make tension because right now the game is very easy which means i can go to any planet and never be apprehensive about going there it would be cool to actually be afraid to go to a planet then i have to build up my gear and face it eventually, Right now every planet i go to the mobs look just cute and they don't pose any threat because i can build a dirt wall around myself if needs be and just cheese it. About the whole feeling in general is you need to add more intense atmosphere to the game to make people scared to lose all their stuff / planets getting destroyed / ship getting stuck or broke down, make some nasty place where it would be uncomfortable to go, you will feel very rewarded and enriched by overcoming such events. I hope you can take any of this into consideration thanks.

Tried it and destroyed it. Heavily modded it and played multiplayer. Its just not as fun as Starbound.
