Opinion on wierd gun I found.

So I was running around a new planet, as I usually do, and I found this gun. It had double the DPS of my current gun, so I looted it. When I shoot it, the bullets go slow for about a second, and then go just as fast as regular bullets. When the bullets are going slow they don't do any damage; the only time damage is done is after that slow period. What I want to know is how many of you have ran into a gun like this, and do you think it's useful or not. I can further elaborate what the gun does if what I said was unclear.

Its a variation of bullets, a weird one, but I've found guns with those types in the past before.

Do you think its useful for anything in particular that other variations aren't as useful for? Just curious.

You found a gun with a delayed bullet type. Personally, I feel they're dumb unless you want to feel like you're in a quicktime event, and hard to use practically.

Found a shotgun like that... looked cool to shoot, but wasn't too useful.

Its useful to set up a chain shot...

Shoot the slow bullet, switch to a sniper, bang, and bang again.

It is called delayed shot. It is not very good in my opinion.

You can see a list of bullet types here: http://starbounder.org/Pistol

Grenade launchers have their own ammo types and rocket launchers only shoot rockets.

In my experience fast shot and sticky plasma are best. I thought pierce would be good, but it is buggy and I have not found a strong weapon with it.

I never thought sticky guns were that useful, but some of them have glowing bullets, which makes them a very effective use of impromptu lighting when needed. Anything fast, constant, with a low rate of energy consumption is probably the best kind of gun to find.

Something that seems cool but is confusing, difficult to use and ultimately not worth the trouble if you think about too much?

Move this to the Philosophy of Existence Section.

delayed bullet types are completely useless unless its a shotty or a machine gun

I suppose it would look cool for sniping with an all-seeing cape.
    *epic slow-mo shot*

Yeah, I found one and I really didn't like it, especially since monsters move around so flipping much. It should have a boost to base damage because of that.

My favorite bullet types are incendiary and high velocity rounds. I found a shotgun with double-buck, it's hella fun to fire but it lags the crap out of my game.

You don't actually need an all seeing cape to increase the view. Control does it regardless of the cape.

Yes, but the cape increases it more.

"All-Seeing Cape is a costume cape. It can be found in Eye Chests, and grants the special ability 'Farsight'. When holding ctrl and moving your cursor in a specific direction, this cape will increase the distance that you can see. (This ability is now always available regardless of what the user is wearing.)"

Yeah I have seen this bullet effect on a shotgun.

It laid down some insane cover fire with walls upon walls of bullets.

I've tested it out and Farsight cape increases both the speed and distance that the camera moves when holding control.
Of course, you could also just learn how to play the game at 1.5x or 1x zoom, but it'd lag the crap out of your computer if it isn't good enough.
