How about a white/gray bullet that, upon impact, is set to blink a faint light that attracts creatures to it? It can also be set to blink bright, as a warning not to go that way, or just to mark your path.
Great idea, you should make a bullet that actually destroys anything organic, instead of preserving it. This could even create a different biome like a radioactive area. How rare and expensive were you thinking of making the gun and bullets?
