Online Character Creator updated with new content!

Hi folks!

I've just uploaded a new version of the online character creator, with a heaping load of new stuff in it. It's new, spiffy hairstyles for all of the different species, created by Brotoad, SamuriFerret and thefluvirus, and two new kicking beards for the Apex males.

You'll find the new options if you start going backwards from the first option. If the new stuff isn't showing up for you, or you get a lot of bald hairstyles, you may have to make a force refresh of your browser to get the new files. Start with pressing Ctrl+F5, or Shift+F5, and see if that helps. If it doesn't, you might have to clear your browser cache. Here's how you do that!

In Chrome (You might want to only have "Empty the cache" checked there)


For my next trick, I'm going to add what you know as Personalities to the character creator. That will take a while, though, since it's a bit more complex than just putting in new hair styles. I'll get back to you when that thing is ready!

(And for the ultra-observant among you; Yes, the Hylotl eyes did change. They were the wrong colour before.)

edit: I have updated the Hylotl with some new palettes that thefluvirus made. It makes them look much nicer, at least I think so. The new palettes affect all the options for the Hylotl's skin colour, belly colour and fin colour, in different amounts - there are no new options this time. You may have to empty your cache again, as per above.

Basically, it's a stance your character takes while idle. There might be more, but nothing else has been announced about them.

 

Changing the undy color for female humans isn't changing the color of the hair decorations, even on the hairstyles that already existed. Is this intentional, or a bug?

Yes, this is intentional. Besides, how many girls do you know that colour coordinate their hair accessories with their undies?

It's great with the new variety of hairstyles. However, I feel that adding numbers to the selected style or a dropbox containing all styles in order to keep track is needed now more than before.

Edit: Wow! Some of the robot heads are really fantastic! Also, excellent work with the new Florans hairdos! ^^

 

Oh. Being stuck with red is kind of a bummer, but it's not really important I guess.

Some of the hairstyles just seem poorly made.
Most of them are really good, however.


Here are SOME of the things I noticed:
Miku hairstyle (oh god)
The train hairstyle
Tinman robot head
BEARDS! FOR EVERYONE! (or apex and humans at least)
Some VERY familiar robot heads, but I cannot put my finger on them.
Genie/prince Zuko ponytail
