Announcement Online Character Creator update, part deux!

It's a lot of fussing for a promo toy.
I feel obligated to check it out once again.

 

It still doesnt want to load on Internet Explorer (Its all i got so please dont tell me to get Fox or Chrome)
My connection is good and i even cleared my cache but nothing.

 

What version IE do you have? Unless you have the latest, chances are it simply doesn't support the technologies needed for the chargen, and there's no fixing that.

Although I can't think of what a plant would wear.

 

Well humans largely wear cotton-based clothing which is from plants... it's only natural that Florans would wear human-based clothing - plus, they're savages!

 

I see what you did there. Actually, it wouldn't necessarily need to be made from humans, any animal would do. All in all, lots o' leather.

 

IDK What I was using but I updated it now. It works. YAY... Well somewhat. When I do the create part at the end it does that Page not found bit in the box that the char creator is. Im using IE10.

 

We already confirmed that Internet Explorer won't work. use a different browser. I'm sorry but Internet Explorer is horrible.

 

It breaks because of the way the file is sent. IE will not accept a file named "download" because that is the name of an internal file used by the browser. In this case, the above post is correct.

P.S. I use Chrome.

 

Unfortunately, my old bright green clothes that you see here
<--------- are no longer available. They were colour 7 I believe, and now 7 is a rather dark, and gloomy green. TBH I don't mind the new one, but the old one looked better im my own opinion. Buuuuut, I'll just have to work around it, unless..... you could possibly bring them back? I'd really appreciate it if you did, but please don't feel strained to, it's just something that I noticed and thought I'd point out.

I can't quite understand why you don't just get another browser installed - saying "it's all you got" isn't helpful, you can just install a batter one...and it's super easy to do. Are you not allowed to install new stuff? But I agree with pyro, IE is horrible...it's the worst browser available, hands down.

If the CharGen was best/without bugs on FF I wouldn't download it just for the CharGen.
My laptop isn't the fastest, and the browser would clog space and possibly slow down my computer.

So, even though they should consider getting Chrome, FireFox, Opera, and other good browsers, they shouldn't get it just cuz of the CharGen.
It should be because they actually want a new browser and will use it instead of IE. (unless they have good computers that won't get laggy from a new browser)

 

I don't want to derail this thread too far, but, what defines a "good" browser?

Now that I think about it, the IE glitch can be fixed very (fairly) kinda easily, just use the name the client put in as the generated file name.

 

While I agree that someone should get a different browser if they want it and will use it, the main issue is that it seems he/she is pretty stuck on using IE and would do well to actually TRY something else in the meantime.

To me, a "good" browser is defined by having good features, functionality, support, is secure and stable, and isn't very intrusive and has a good community (such as add-ons, extensions, and themes). To me, IE is just the same crap as it's always been but with a few new bells and whistles and a new look. It used to really, really suck...now it just sucks less. Yea, we need leather clothes for the Florans! Black leather jackets and black leather pants for sure.
Brown leather 'hunter' gear is also a good idea. It should feature animal teeth details and special pockets for knives.

 

Prepare the hair gel. It would be cool if there was a hat option for some races.

If you rapidly press forward on pose ( from the standing position ) it shows you character walking and running and jumping.
And then it just makes no sense.
