Announcement Online Character Creator update, part deux!

Yeah, and hopefully we get more colors and variations in the creator!

 

It's probably going to be a while, they are just now starting to create the assets for them.

 

I absolutely love all of the options, and while I do like options, the amount of heads for the Glitch was... staggering, to say the least.
Also, did anyone else notice that if you hit the randomize character button in rapid succession that it looks like the character is doing a dance? I became way too amused by that.

 

Would it be possible to slap an already created skin on the sprite you create? I want a fan-made nova kid skin that I found, but I'm not sure if I would be able to.
I wanted to make a Floran, but I can't even see a difference between male and female other than about 4 tiny pixels.

 

I was thinking of being a human or a glitch but these Novakids seem to be trumping them both ^.^
Can't wait to create myself one that fits just right.

Hoping they'll add a head mod for Glitch like pic related by release to the character creator.

Somehow I doubt you'll be able to add in your own sprites. I know there's many awesome characters out there (Blackleaf's avatar springs to mind) but a lot of them probably wouldn't fit in with the final "style" of the game especially those where people have given them accessories, or even gone with their own race as op[posed to one of the 7 official ones.
As much as I'd like some sort of Minecraft-esque "skin" system, all the streams and screenshots seem to suggest it will have a more Terraria-like character system with each character 'fixed' once it's been made.

As for Florans (still best race, Novakids got nothin' on Florans...) there's not meant to be much (if any) difference between males and females, since in "Meet the Florans", it states them to be a unisex race. Wooo lore!

 

I know that in Terraria you couldn't alter the actual character, but you could alter a set of armor to look like something else. Like Samus, or Mario... stuff like that. Like these
I take no credit for these videos, I just looked up "terraria skin mods" and they were the best example I saw.

I admire your patience, Weegeemang. Most people would be checking it every minute...or as fast as they can hit the F5 key.

 

i'm a little disappointed you can't choose fluff color. i really wanted to make a cardinal

 

Too bad there's no white color for clothes... Recently I've been naming my characters in many games starting with "Dr. "

 

All the choices will keep me busy.

 

Novakids ....are they hot or cold? can someone tell me. wait....

 

They aren't fire, they're gas. They may take on the temperature of their surroundings.
