... of being registered, I decided to introduce myself. Hello there! From what I've seen, Starbound has already amassed a sizable, friendly community. I've heard good things, and I look forward to meeting some of you. I can't promise that I will be an active poster - these days I find I have less and less time for more leisurely activities like Sunday afternoon strolls and forum posting - but, I can promise that most of my posts will be thoughtful and constructive. I say 'most' because every now and then I can't help but be facetious. So, a bit about me: I have been an avid gamer most of my life. My favorite gaming genres are RTS and RPG, and I also enjoy a few FPS games as well. My other hobbies include rock-climbing, swimming, running, and hiking. I tend to dislike sports games though :why play a soccer game on your PC, when you can go outside and do that in real life, and instead use your PC to slay monsters, loot treasure and explore the galaxy? I don't even like soccer. Some of my favorite game titles include Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, Diablo, and Knights of the Old Republic. I've also put more than a few hours into various COD games. And then of course there's Terraria. While I was never a big fan of Minecraft, I have always loved games that actively encourage players to be creative. Whether it's creating a sprawling metropolis in Black and White 2, or creating a creature or vehicle in Spore, I have always enjoyed finding ways, given the tools provided by games, to create both functional and aesthetically pleasing things. When I played Terraria, I found a pleasant mix of creative tools and entertaining combat and exploration mechanics. I quickly found myself hooked, always scheming, always planning in my head my next great citadel, or devious trap. When I saw this game, and read what it's plans where - how it would take the formula that I so loved in Terraria, and expand and improve on it - I immediately got excited for it. I religiously check every day for the daily update, and get that little bit more excited to see how much thought and effort the development team are putting into this game. I would bore my boyfriend explaining in painful detail, everything I think is great about Terraria, and subsequently, this game. He very thoughtfully then pre-ordered this game for me as a gift. Give that man a Bells! So, having already toyed around with the character creator for a few hours, and gawked at some of the fan-art here, I find myself eagerly waiting in anticipation for this game. Thanks for reading.
Y U N LIEK SOCCER GAYMES Oh yeah, that's why. Anyhoo, welcome to the forums, gurl. Remember to bring extra lantern oil. You wouldn't want to get stuck in an old abandoned thread, now would you? Welp, I wish you luck on your forums-goings.

Nice Intro Crymaw, waiting for your next book then! Welcome to our community I'm Mr.Bacon, the Official Bacon of Starbound. If you ever need some Bacon, just Call Me! If you wish you can join a clan/fansite, iLoveBacons is a friendly one where you can chat, ask your questions and have fun! ^^
@ FrankBiscuit, that video was 'lulsworthy' @ Katzeus and TVK, It's actually all part of a devious plan: the money I would have used to buy Starbound for myself can now be used to buy Starbound for him, thus forcibly inditing another player into our cult! Mwhahaha! @ TVK, there is indeed bickering on every forum: it's part of the human condition I'm afraid. @ Bacon, I will try to keep my next thread more concise and to the point. I will also keep your offer of bacon in mind. Eating a part of something that greeted me does seem strange though, so I may be slow to take you up on that. Thanks everybody for the warm welcome! I appreciate it. I am not sure why I am typing in such a 'stiff' formal tone - maybe I have unwittingly begun to role-play as my glitch character - but I am sure I will loosen up and have some fun as I begin to make myself at home here.
