I'd say 3.

Long way to go; balancing, content, etc. At the moment you just craft up a set of armor then fight the next boss and repeat till you "beat the beta".

 

im hoping around 2/10 personaly, wich means im expecting another 8/10 more game content befor release the overall feel of the game is good, but it needs ALLOT of work . im realy looking forward to playing the upcoming patches that get it closer to a release state

 

I'd say about 4. Random quest system for me is the biggest missing piece.

this game has great potential that is far from tapped, it may just be me with high expectations for this game. but here we are in the beginning lets make it something to remember for a long time.

 

I'll preface this with saying I love the current state of the game and the majority of the current features:

My honest opinion would be 2 of 10.

The current Tiers 1-4 are far from complete with more to be added, tiers 5-10 still need to be fleshed out, a bunch of place holder features need to be replaced by their true selves, etc...

Starbound is great so far, though it still has a long road of development ahead.

 

Have the devs stated what their end goals are for the game? From how much they seem willing to change, I would say this game is a work in progress. I dislike the OP putting a score to how complete this game is though. People who are frustrated currently will of course say it's incomplete while the fanboys will say the opposite. I'd rather talk about what features are planned and at what point the Dev will be okay with what they have. Unless the devs are just flying by the seat of their pants, but that would be pre-alpha more than beta.

 

Good point you have there, but I myself was rating it based on an actual game, not what the devs are planning to implement. Most of the people here are probably rating on what the devs want to implement, though. Or being angry.

 

I'd have to think to me the game is probably somewhere betwen 4 and 6 out of 10

Since all of our opinions are scientifically proven and not at all pulled out of are rears, I would say 6/10.

 

its somewhere around there for me , game still is looking for maybe 1+ year in beta before its actually released so they have plenty of time to get updates out and balancing done etc

The game won't be complete when it is released either. They've already stated that they plan to have a year of full work on the game after release. Thereafter, they've stated that a small team will continue to add content.
For release, maybe a 2/10. I pray that this isn't a 6/10. However, for absolute completion... approximating 0/10. Mods are a developer supported part of this game... so as long as the community mods the game, it'll continue to grow.
