With a universe full of edible species, and quite a few not, some of us will go to -great- lengths to ensure that everything is edible within reasoning and seasoning. I think to date the only one I can't make a menu item out of is the Robots. And they can be converted into Hibachi grills....
I could do the usual fried chicken joke, but I'm above that. Plus, too much trouble cleaning out after de-feathering and well frankly its just too much work. Now if I ran into some carnivore avians we might just set aside differences and enjoy a nice fresh tea in the Study...
That's the beautiful thing about being both a Floran and a scientist. Within reason I can synthesize most plant material without the use of growth hormones or drug compounds. My favorite tea to date is a mixture of black cherry and pomegranate seeds. A bit of sugarcane in unprocessed format (leaves that little hint of molasses) and voila. Pure deliciousness.
