Traps are amazing and they can add a lot to the game! Here are my 3 suggestions:

    Trap Level I:
Simple, cheap to craft, quick to place and with unlimited uses. They can basically prevent a monster or NPC from walking or jumping but they would still attack you if you are in range. They cause no damage to the monsters or NPCs but they can't get rid of it by themselves. Last, but not least some traps should be able to attract monsters since otherwise they would be useless against the flying ones.

    Trap Level II:
More expensive to craft but still viable if you want to use a lot of them. Quick to place and one-time use. They can basically cause damage to a monster, NPC or player. Their damage can be instant like small explosions, arrows or any sort strong attack. They can also cause buff'ed damage like setting the victim on fire, poisoning, paralyzing for a few seconds, etc. Also they could be either activated by proximity/contact or remotely (super fun)!

    Trap Level III
This level requires planning because it involves the design of mechanisms. I would love to be able to "study" the behavior of monsters in the game and make giant traps to loot their items. This involves other mechanics, like the ability to move blocks (pistons?), detect moving players/monster/NPCs, place water/lava/poisonous fluids, design crushers, etc.

I know that the Traps Level III would require a lot work from the developers, so I don't expect to see it so soon. What do you guys think about Traps Level I and II ?

    Thanks.

They only drop pixels, holiday spirit, cell materia and meat or leather with hunting gear. Not much to loot and it would be more cosmetic than actually useful since enemies dom't move much

Yes, what else do you want from monster ? Also NPCs drop weapons and stimpacks, maybe armor in the future! who knows ? Traps are fun ,that's the point.
Also if Traps Level III get implemented we will be able to farm pixels! Isn't it great ?

well pixels are much easier to get by mining ores in x sector. So many diamonds... And enemy npc's (not the monsters) don't spawn and there is a limited number per world almost all don't move beyond a certain distance. They aren't so fun if they are just sitting there

If you think it's fun to kill a monster by click-click-click you can do it, I won't complain. But I would like the Chucklefish team to add more strategy to the game: so traps!

If don't want to use traps, just don't use them!

I would love to see something like these traps in game. Especially the early tier trap would be nice for setting up a little bit of a safety zone around a starter home on a planet.

Traps would be good but useful? Barely any enemies come to bases and none stay there. any dropped items de-spawn after a certain time. There is no strategy in traps at the moment and
