So recently theres been a mysterious star circulating around SETI that has shit tons of variation in the infrared light levels it gives off, now the obvious solution is that its a young star with a matter disk around it, blocking infrared light in parts. It gets strange though, as the star is fully mature because if it were young, the dust would be giving off a massive ring of infrared light. So now scientists are saying its a "mass of comets" in a binary system like this: Though the thing thats strange about that is that its so dense that if you were in the system, you'd be experiencing a constant meteor shower. It gets stranger too, as those comets apparently appeared less than 1000 years ago. Now whats being speculated (not among official sources, of course) is that it could be a Type-II Civilization that is in the process of building something like a Dyson Sphere / Swarm, SETI plans on aiming there biggest dishes towards the star to see if they receive any radio patterns associated with technological activity. edit: and the scary part about if it is a Type-II civilization, they're probably far more advanced right now, due to the thousands of lightyears of distance between us and them.
I'm a Gilgamesher through and through, but might switch servers to Balmung or I dunno possibly something on another data center if that's possible.
Aww yiss. I'll have to check this out in the coming weeks. Aliens: "Oh, hey. Another sentient race. How are you guys?" Humans: *global panic* Turns out Deus Ex: Revision is only for the Steam version of the game. Which I don't have. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Insteed of playing Deus EX: HR I'm just going to FINALLY beat Skyrim on PC. Recommended mods, anyone?
Unrelated, beat Undertale last night (Pacifist Run, I don't have the heart to do a Genocide Run :<). This game... I seriously haven't gotten this emotionally attached to the characters and story in ages. Everyone's just so... likable, memorable, relatable, you get the picture. I can easily say this game is one of my all-time favorites just from how charming it was. Definitely would recommend it to those who are planning on trying it out sometime. Also have some Papyrus and Sans art because that's all I can draw right now: http://fav.me/d9d0qgt
Considering Cyberspy just gifted me a copy of DX1 on Steam (which is on sale for $2), I can't complain.
I need to see the source article for this. It's too amazing. I really want to, but I have no clue how.
News article http://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2015/10/the-most-interesting-star-in-our-galaxy/410023/ Planet Hunters (the organization that found it) thread (warning; they speak in a lot of abbreviations and technical names, so its super hard to understand them) http://oldtalk.planethunters.org/discussions/DPH101e830?object_id=APH10115382&page=1&per_page=10
Some folks dug up a few evidences pointing out to a possible HD release of LoZ: Twilight Princess on Wii U: http://gamerant.com/zelda-twilight-princess-hd-wii-u-113/ You know, here's an interesting fact that has just dawned on me: I have never beaten any Legend of Zelda games, the only exception being Majora's Mask, and I didn't do it on my own. I always drop it mid to endgame. I stopped short of facing Ganon in Link to the Past. Fought Ganondorf's first form in Ocarina of Time and died, never to try it again. I stopped both Twilight Princess and a Link Between Worlds around some point I can't remember but it was quite far along and Skyward Sword was dropped like a bad habit in the middle of the first dungeon. As for the other titles I either never got past the first few minutes to remember or haven't played altogether. Here's the kicker though: I didn't hate any of those games. Sure, Skyward Sword didn't blow me away, but it was far from a bad game. Yet... I could never beat any of them myself... -edit- Maybe I ought to track down a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D, to rectify some of that. I mean, I got to the last boss, why didn't I go through with it? It wasn't childish fear either. I was, what, 22? Something like that, when I last attempted that game. Probably something else got in the way.
So Cube World is alive and kicking. http://kotaku.com/over-a-year-later-cube-world-finally-has-a-few-new-thi-1736067016 I wonder how long till the dev drops communications with his fans for another year or so.
I've always found that at the end of an experience I enjoy a lot, I end up trying to do absolutely anything that isn't actually clearing it. It happened kinda recently with Fire Emblem Awakening, where I made my soldiers perfect killing machines and recruited everyone I could before finally finishing the game. tfw you have other stuff you can reply to but forget Yeah, I saw something from it's Twitter on my timeline the other day and i was pretty surprised it was still alive. I didn't like the game myself when I tried it, but I suppose it's nice that it's still alive for the fans of it.
ugh, it's true but fuck i'm so used to shitty internet it barely even bothers me my internet can barely run runescape half the time i forget it's universal for trove
