I had begun typing out a response, but then I noticed there was a new kurzgesagt video about it as well, and they do better job than I ever could (hopefully they're available to watch in Australia)
Better get quick on that assembly then. :/ Please tell me its just assembly right? Not straight binary.
iirc Assembly is a readable version of binary (probably wrong), so you'll probably never have to code in straight binary unless your coding an assembler or something of that type.
No just assembly, well, they are one in the same pretty much Not quite but more or less. Assembly language pretty much translates 1:1 with actual machine code. Assembly does provide some handy abstractions as well though (stuff like labels which helps make program flow a little more readable, and the ability to associate constants with a given name). The assembler also does some of the nitty gritty stuff like allocating the memory space for your program and sorting out all the relative addresses and stuff. You can code an assembler in assembler (or, in a higher language like C I suppose).[DOUBLEPOST=1443575764][/DOUBLEPOST]Well, The UN has clearly gone to shit
Ah, a discrepancy in this video (and most Western media outlets) has been pointed out to me: the gulf arab states (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc) have taken in refugees, but because they give citizenship to Syrian refugees, and they haven't signed the UN refugee treaty, they aren't counted.
From what i hear, about a third of the other references for that report are also irretrievable, broken, or unreliable as sources. A whole third.
Apparently the report itself is quite awful too - just a complete mess of ideas, internally inconsistent, riddled with ambiguous definitions and tangential nonsense and all around just to vague to have any real meaning.
Because the Reddit thumbnail algorithm is madly in love with me I use the same avatar on Squidboards and I guess Reddit decided to choose that image
So, does that mean you're /u/SwordChucksYo? How exactly does that work? Is that like Smellovision?[DOUBLEPOST=1443628273][/DOUBLEPOST]DOUBLE POST EDIT: Ohey, a petition!
