You know when you have a relative that is on their death bed? They may not be the most beloved member of your family, and perhaps rightly so, but they were still responsible for so many wonderful memories you have. Yet all they do now is shit their own bed and mumble incoherently. You sort of hope they'll make a miraculous recover so you can both have a good time like the old days, yet you cannot bear to watch their current pitiful existence any longer and part of you wants to just pull the plug.

Yeah, that's Lionhead Studios for me.

North Korea has just fired a few more ballistic missiles into the ocean.

Even Russia is tired of their shit, and it sucks ass because we can't do anything about North Korea because of 3 main reasons (keep in mind, I'm not an expert on tactics or politics, and most of this is hearsay without any citations to back it):
    1) North Korea has one of the largest militaries in the world afaik, and while they aren't well trained most likely, North Korean tactics probably value numbers over ability, and a 10,000 person invasion will be screwed if faced with a 500,000 (which is like a 14th or 7% of the NK military) person retaliation, no matter how highly trained those 10,000 people are. This will lead to a lot of deaths, possibly comparable to Operation Downfall (if gone through, there was a projected US death toll in the hundreds of thousands or low millions), where the US produced so many Purple Hearts (metals given to those who were injured / died in battle) for that they are still using the supply to this day.

    2) The millions and millions of refugees that will be spread to South Korea and China if North Korea falls, and no one wants to deal with millions of uneducated, brainwashed, malnourished refugees who may cause tons of problems due to attempts at uprisings.

    3) The Korean War never technically ended, there was only a ceasefire between the two sides, if North Korea is attacked, it gives China, who is an ally of NK, an excuse to attempt to take the entire peninsula, and the US really doesn't want that.

TL;Dr North Korea is lucky as fuck because if anyone attacks them, chances are shit will be fucked real fast.

It looks like I may be getting a 250GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD in my computer this weekend, this IG rest because it's a huge step up over the 500GB HDD I have right now

Finally got a router and an hdmi-vga adapter so now i can use all of my computers together. I don't really have much use for them, but I do have ideas for them. Maybe I can use one of these things for tunneling or something, I don't know. You guys got any ideas?
Got an old Dell laptop with a celeron chip inside. I'll be using that as kind of a media server and attach it to my tv.
A Dell optiplex mini with a small hard drive, but will have usb storage devices attached to it. This'll be my file server
A new desktop i built thats just for general purposes
A HP Pavillion g7 for mobile computing
And finally a dell inspiron duo thats used to talk to all the other computers.

So, I didn't really bring this up before because I wanted to wait until I was done. I have built by myself my very own computer for the first time! I ordered the parts in the mail, and after a bit of finagling with it after making some mistakes, I have successfully upgraded my computer's motherboard, GPU, and case! :nuruhype: I'm really happy that I was successful, even after several mistakes that had me worrying I failed. This is truly the first "adult" thing I've done, my parent's knew nothing about computer hardware and I had to trust myself that I knew what I was doing!
That's uhh, a lot of computers. Did you buy them all at once, or have you just accumulated them across the ages?

    That's awesome! :DD

While I have disassembled and reassembled my own PC before, I have never put a brand new one together before! I am planning on doing that soon, though.
Care to post your new specs?

While it wasn't technically a completely new computer, I essentially had to rebuild the whole thing from scratch since I was replacing the motherboard and case.

My old specs (just the ones that were changed):
    • GPU: NVidia Geforce GTX 750 (nothing wrong, just not powerful enough anymore. probably will let my dad upgrade his 550 ti to this)
    • MOBO: MSI 760GM-P34 (FX) (faulty sound card, no USB3.0 ports)
    • CASE: CYBERPOWERPC X-Titan Black/Red Full-Tower (I think?) (faulty front panel headphone jack, plus I just didn't like the way it looks)
    My new specs:
    • CPU: AMD FX-8320 (8-core 3.5GHz)
    • GPU: Radeon R9 380
    • MOBO: ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer
    • RAM: 16GB (unknown brand)
    • PSU: (unknown 800w)
    • CASE: DIYPC VT380-W White SPCC ATX Mid Tower
    • KEYBOARD: Dell KM714 (this keyboard is somehow absolutely perfect for me, matching all of my preferences other than color)
    • MOUSE: WM514 (again, somehow absolutely perfect other than color. however, the default and official drivers for it don't map the side buttons to M4 and M5 for some reason, would love help fixing this)
    • DISPLAY: ASUS VG248QE
    • HEADSET: Sennheiser PC333D
I have never heard of this "Fatal1ty" person before, I didn't even know it was someone's name until I read the manual that came with the board.

What a beast. Wish I had the dosh to build one like that. Has it been working smoothly for you? No compatibility issues?
Wait, what? Fatal1ty is a person? Why name a Motherboard after him? Was it taken straight from an assassin droid?

Smoother than sliced bread. I haven't done anything on the Linux side, but that should be easy compared to the madness Win7 put me through.
Getting the money to build this thing wasn't easy, I just got lucky that my dad's job offered to put about $800 towards a prebuilt PC, and that he let me use it. The monitor took me a while to save up for, and I only was able to afford the recent upgrades due to birthday money. Yeesh, Outside has a lot of RNG in it.
It was his username or something. I think it said he was a Quake player? It also mentioned organizations I'd never heard of before.

You are very lucky to guess his gender correctly, by the way.

My dad knows some things about computers and was given computers by some friends to fix them, but some of them were just forgotten or unfixable (messed up battery, drivers/hardware problems, windows being stupid). So I decided to take them, put linux in em, and play with them.

Call it an educated guess. Nicknames that replaces letters with numbers scream "Boy in his early teens trying too hard to look C00L with his 1337 sk1llz" to me.

And yes, the outside world can be pretty random at times. But there's still room for planning in it.

Even though they can't actually legally do that, hah. Oh, even better worse is that they plan on targeting WhatsApp next.

“If government can’t get in, then everyone’s walking around with a Swiss bank account in their pocket." Uhh, that's the point, Obama.

I'll say it again: There's no such thing as "Terrorism", nor "National Security". There's organized crime, and...actually "National Security" doesn't exist at all in any form, it's completely hollow.

    Whoa! This is REALLY bad!

Those of you still in highschool better stay on your toes. Hold teachers accountable, and convince as many as you can to disagree with this policy without making yourself a suspect. The FBI is getting more open about their desire to control the masses, and crush dissent.
