Offical Glitch ship upgrade - WIP

Really? I don't. I look forward to having enough room on my ship to store all my stuff with enough room to spare to make it look semi-attractive!

lol, I picked up the sarcasm, I was pointing out why I actually *am* looking forward to this while being deliberately obtuse.

 

The engine has only increased in size by a factor of two. What mighty propulsive energies lie within the ship's belly?

 

It would seem so, considering how this spacecraft is shaped like a castle.

 

Considering the vacuum of space the size of the engine is rather inconsequential, big enough to move one pod is big enough to move several; unless of course the ship is landing on planets and then taking off again, then size matters a lot.

It is, but if you swap the roofs for thatch roofs or domed apex roofs, then all it needs is a new paint scheme and it looks like it's custom built for either of those races as well.

While I am not an expert in the subject, it seems that with the increased mass of the ship the thruster would have to be larger in order to accommodate the same density/expulsion rate of reaction mass. But being a game with warp engines and the like, it seems rather useless determining such items.

Mere speculation. My only piece of evidence being the distinctive castle-like look of the towers, which in of itself is rather weak.

 

the same engine will accelerate the large ship to the same speed as the small ship. it will just take alot more time and fuel at a slower acceleration rate to do it. the small ship might acceletate at 10gs while the large one accelerates at only 1g.

 

Which of course introduces the problem of needing to have all that extra reaction mass, unless of course we've sci-fi'ed ourselves past the need for such foolishness, in which case nvm.

Indeed! That's something I hope to see.
exactly same size and look for all ships is just annoying. Making each ship different gives some variety and makes the ships more "realistic".

 

Haven't you seen the human ship layout? It's completely different
